i need help juggling everything!

!!

i go to college monday through thursday and have 5 classes. this is my first semester in college. i just graduated high school this past june. and in 2 of the classes i have now, it seems i always have a speech to prepare and give (and i have social anxiety, so that makes it worse) and i have a research paper do as well as some other essays.

i am in karate. i got monday, tuesday, wednesday, and saturday. i help teach and take class. its like im in too far to get out, but i might be able to not go as much, but idk.

i am preparing to move about 10 minutes away from where i live now. i move on october first.

back to the social anxiety problem i have, it stops me from goin out to get a job because i HATE being with people. i get so uncomfortable. and i really need a job so i can help pay for my car, for school, and for gas and other stuff.

MOST OF ALL, i need the help with motivating myself to put more effort into college!!! i procrastinate WAY TOO MUCH!!!

i keep wanting to go out and hang out with my friends, but i cant. i know i shouldnt, but i do.

I REALLY NEED HELP!!!!!

well it sounds like you need to get your priorities set straight. if your serious about college, you should try to make that your main focus. if it is at all possible to not have a job, then i’d say don’t get one until your out of college. if you absolutely must have a job, then take less classes at college so you’re not overly stressed. as far as balancing it with your karate, you either need to drop it all together, or learn how to schedule your homework around those times. the best thing to do is to make a weekly plan for yourself. write down what needs to be done immediately (within one week) and concentrate only on that amount. make a schedule for yourself, day by day, and force yourself to stick to it. thats the hardest part, because its going to take alot of responsibility and will power to say no to partying and say yes to studying. but that’s really what college is about. the first year is sort of boring, but also try to find a way to make yourself interested in what you’re studying so that you want to get the work done.

When would you have time to work? Make a list of priorities, then decide where your time is better spent. If you need the work for the schooling, maybe karate will have to take a back seat for awhile. If you over extend yourself, and the school work doesn’t get done, it will just take longer and be harder to start again. A job doesn’t necessarily mean you have to be around a lot of people; could you get paid for giving karate lessons on the side perhaps? Tutoring maybe? Just some ideas…

thanks. i kno i need to do that, and i agree katlover, it is hard, but i NEED to do it. i dont have time for a job, the only way i would is if i drop karate. i cant teach karate lessons on the side cuz my instructor doesnt let us do that. and im not experienced enough to teach other people by myself. i am not smart, so i cant tutor. but i appreciate it it chickyyyy
