Money help: Expensive decision to make. - Help.com

Expensive decision to make.

I have a tooth that needs a root canal but i dont have insurance. its estimated at $1858.00 for the root canal and a crown.

my question is: should i do the root canal or just get the tooth pulled?

almost 2 grand is a lot of money for me since im 19 and go to college full time and have a part time job.
Maybe I’ll sell brownies and cookies for a few months at work…

This is a tricky one, and of course two thousand dollars is a lot of money. I would consider just getting the tooth pulled if the dentist has offered it as an option. Does your school not require that you have insurance while enrolled?

No family to borrow the cost and pay it back in installments? If you just don’t have the money, doesn’t seem like you have much of a choice. Hard decision.

Yeah, a lot of schools actually require that you have insurance in case you get sick. See if your dentist offers a payment plan that makes sense financially. Unfortunately, if you just don’t have the money then you just don’t have the money.

Definitely pay the money and get a root canal. you can’t replace a tooth but you can replace money. You can only get falsies. Anything worth keeping is worth paying for.
