HELPPP

Ok im in ROTC in school. Its this military type thing. I really dont want to be in it. I want to get out and get into softball. But its already too late. Unless I bring my parents in. I want to do that but the thing about softball is that I HATE running. And softballs all about running. UGH. The good thing bout ROTC is that it counts as a credit for physical education. I really need to start running and I guess this would be a good way to start. But im going to be reallyy sore for lke the first week or two. I just dont know what to do? Stay in ROTC or try to get into softball…
HELP??

I think you should stay in ROTC so you can get some gain more physical attributes. And you will learn to tolerate and adapt to things you don’t like, which is part of life, always running into new things and were not always going to like what we see.

WEll you are going to be running either way, but I would pick the one that I liked the most if I were in your shoes. Oh and I think you have a pretty face :) Best wishes.

Well!
The thing you must have realised is that since both count towards physical education they will be somewhat similar… (in the requirements of phyiscal exertion)
Since youve already chosen ROTC… why not stick with it?
LOL! some how I feel like its a pretty girl trying to get out of gettin gher hands dirty and sweaty (sorry if Im offending you)
I guess the main thing is to have fun outdoors…

on the running thing…

If everything is working then running is great. Whats not working about it?

Start slow, lean forward, breath deep, enjoy.

yea running is great but ive never liked it. but i really want to start getting in shape. and in rotc the only thing you do is push-ups when your late. which is gonna be all the time for me because my algebra teacher take sooo long to dismiss us..

haha. Running isn’t for everyones body. Swimming is pretty universally great for getting in shape. Why do you want to get in shape? I mean is it about endurance and health, or looking buff?

If you only do pushups, it builds uneven muscles around the shoulder and can attually cause them to move forward, giving backaches and poor posture. If you have to do pushups, also do chair dips, which are kind of like pushups but behind you.

Sorry, that’s all tangent. I’m just a geek who recently got into fitness.

I’d say softball, but you haven’t said whats wrong with ROTC other than the running, which you have to do in both…

the bad thing about rotc is that i just dont like the class. the only thing i like is that its easy to pass and the credit. softball does the running. a mile or more each day..maybe more. now thats alot for me. i feel like maybe ill benefit more from softball then rotc.

softball for the win!

Its not healthy to go from nothing to a mile or more a day. Shoes, warm up and warm down. Running can be great.

about the being sore…. the following sounds silly, but it works. Also, if it doesn’t no harm done.

Warm up, jog, then… lie on you back with you feet leaning against a wall for a few minutes. Next day, almost no muscle pain.
