school help: I’m almost 14 and I’m trying to apply for a job as a kitchen-hand at a local cafe. - Help.com

I’m almost 14 and I’m trying to apply for a job as a kitchen-hand at a local cafe.

But the problem is I have no work experience whatsoever…I haven’t even done babysitting or volunteered at the school canteen or anything!
But I do get really good marks at school and I am practical and enthusiastic and I would be good at my job.
What should I write on my resume?
SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP!!

They probably won’t hire you. Law says you have to be at least 14 in order to work. And there are restricted hours and jobs for 14 and 15 year olds. Best if you wait until you’re 16.

You seem to crave independence! Well, just show them that passion. And tell them exactly what you said here. They’ll prolly hire you, if they need the help.
