friends help: Gah! - Help.com

Gah!

I tried to be nice, and now look what I got myself into.

Ok, so, a few days ago, I decided that I would start actively talking to people who were less popular, or just needed a friend, at school.
Well, yesterday, I talked to a girl, but I had a random tongue tie moment, and it came across as if I liked (like that) her or something. Ever since, I get the feeling that I gave her the wrong idea.

I already have a girlfriend, and wasn’t interested in her that way regardless. I don’t want to just come up and say I already have a girlfriend, because if I was just misreading her, it would make me seem like some egotistical jerk to assume it as fact. Yet, I don’t want to take too long to figure out if she actually does like me, because I don’t want to add insult to injury.

I think what you are doing is really nice and she should be thankful for having someone care. But sometime when u are alone with her I think you should tell her you already have a girlfriend and maybe say u are sorry if u mislead her in anyway. If she wants to stay friends with you then goo and if not oh well….might even be easier on you if she doesnt.
