Medical help requested.

We need HELP! My wife has developed clonic jerking and tremors that began last week. She has had a CT, contrast and noncontrast MRI of her brain with no underlying etiology. We are running out of options, and I am tired of seeing her in AGONY crying on the couch in front of our two children. I am in the military, and am scheduled to go on deployment early next year, and several field exercises in between, and her Neurologist insists that she is taking elicit drugs (when her tests come back negative), and does not listen to us at all. She is not having a stroke, and she remains conscious and aware throughout the tremors and jerking. Please help me find ANYONE that will listen. I will pay anything, or drive anywhere.

wrong tremors. These are total body jerks, and her MRI had no lesions. I am the equivalent of a Physician Assistant. The only lab that came back with anything was the drug screen for Tricyclic Antidepressants (of which she is taking none)

hi sorry was on emails…Oh ok hon, I just wondered if there were lesions, I just dont understand why they are not dealing with her faster, this isnt right for sure.
And why would her results show drugs if she’s not taking any ? thats really strange, is this a Military hospital or civilian one ?

Your symptoms sound alot like parkinsons disease. like the actor michael j fox suffers from. tremors and jerking are among the symptoms. if i were you, i’d for sure get a 2nd. opinion. mention this to him /her and see if this is a possibility.. hoping for the best to you and yours..

These tests were done by a civilian Neurologist. She is taking:

- Vicodin for Kidney Stones (of which she passes 3 per month)
- Ibuprofen
- Sudafed (occasionally)

I agree that this sounds like Parkinson’s.

Good ! Ask your Dr. to give her samples of mirapex. This is used for parkinson’s. At least you’ll see a result. Process of elimination.. Hope that works:) Good luck!!

I think Id find another Neurologist, this one seems to be taking his time finding a diagnosis, your wife is no doubt anxious and stressed by the situation, once diagnosed she will start to accept and get the right treatment.
