SICK OF GOD.

“He” is everywhere. Everyone I know is always saying, “just accept God into your life”, “You need to have faith”, “This happened to you because you don’t believe”.

BULL!! I have been really openminded my entire life. I’ve never had a problem with religion. I’ve even attempted a couple of em. But man, I mean, my whole family, all my friends, everyone I know just keeps pushing and pushing me. And I can’t take it anymore!!

I don’t know why I don’t believe, everyone I know does. I just DONT. There’s no God, sorry, no. I used to think, “well, maybe there’s something out there…” but no. I mean, if there really was or is a being as almighty or powerful as God then he wouldn’t have screwed up and made his followers so FREAKING RETARDED. I’m at my breaking point. So here it is folks, my declaration of nonbelief brought on my all the nosy, pushy, arrogant, elitist pricks that are the believers in my life:

I DON’T BELIEVE IN GOD. (edited: watch your language-Ken) IT.

I am sorry you have freaking retarded religious people who try and push their beliefs on you. I hope you feel a little better now that you have released all that. I am not being sarcastic, I really hope you feel better.

Hey! So you’re a non-beleiver? Well great! You beleive in something: no god! Why are you upset?

I know EXACTLY what you mean.

Respect to you.

One day you may see that not all people who believe in god are like that. Just because someone claims a belief in god, it doesn’t mean they condone the kind of behaviour you have had to endure

Yeah! Bunches of people don’t beleive in “thy lord”. You can also beleive in him, but not like WORSHIP HIM ON A DAILY BASIS. I think that we’re all here to have fun! :-)

Religion is a belief, pure and simple. Its an emotional crutch that some need in their lives. Its also someone to blame when things go wrong i.e It wasn’t Gods wish, I committed adultery with my neighbour, but Ill go to Church on Sunday and all will be forgiven. Religion is behind many wars in the world, I don’t condemn those that believe each to his or her own. But one thing I do hate is the Hypocrisy that surrounds it.

Why do people who disavow God tend to feel the need to abuse those who believe?

Its a meme. It has evolved and is passed on as long as it isn’t too detrimental to its hosts.

That’s too harsh. There is soooo much good to be found in religion, community spirit, dancing singing and praising, support and counseling networks, comfort that the big questions have been answered, a purpose, hope and I’m sure much more…

Its just that a lot of modern dogma is just plain incorrect. The Vatican for example, has a tough time trying to answer modern dilemmas while at the same time, has to be seen com forming to thousands of years old conflicting rule book.

thats my two cents

God is actively trying to make his followers not so screwed up.
It is true that the churches are still living in the dark ages on many
things. We need people like you who can point out to followers some
of the weaknesses.

this maybe of help?

the purpose of life is to gradually perfect ourselves from where we are now
to the level of a master like Jesus, Buddha, Mohammed, Krishna, Hercules, etc.
we do this by reincarnating over and over again in groups.
We go through five steps:
1/ mastery over the physical plane.
2/mastery over the astral plane( emotional plane)
3/mastery over the mental plane.
4/the crucifixion
5/resurrection

Jesus demonstrated those 5 step 2000 years ago

A thought experiment. Try this substitution.. God = your subconscious mind. If you want an organised religion similar to Christianity that isn’t so logically confronting, look up Baha’i. If you want a set of guidelines for living a happy life, try Buddhism.

Baha’i

Equal respect for women, don’t try fasting when your sick or menstruating, don’t tithe when saving for your first house or educating yourself, if your sick - go see a good doctor. It’s a like patched version of Christianity. I’m not one myself btw, but it makes more sense than most.

I don’t see origional Buddhism as a religion. No god involved, just a smart dude sitting on a hill for a long time thinking deep thoughts. Hey, just maybe that was the start of all religions… :-)

And newtons gravity… think I might go sit on a hill

Jesus said

” you priests are messed up, stop messing with the people”
” you can pray to god direct without going through organised religion”
” more important than all those rules is the the vibe of be good to each other”
