My name is Sara Mimnall and i am in 10th grade.

When i graduate im hope to go into photography and working with children who have down syndrome. i want to work with them and help them learn how to grow up as much as they can. im not sure how to go about this. do i have to go to school for it? college? i’d like to do whatever it takes to help downsyndrome kids out, but i am hoping to stay within P.A. to do it. If you can help in any way. please let me know. thank you.

Hey, you may want to get experience by volunteering at the special olympics events. They are always looking for volunteers. Otherwise it depends what you want to do and how you want to help. Speech pathology? Behavioral management? or just be a mentor or big brother/ big sister.

Furthering your education isn’t exactly necessary, but I would definitely suggest it. You can major in Photography and take additional classes in the Special Education department. It’ll broaden your knowledge and also look better on resumes. Any community college near you should offer what you need.

Hi, I’m from pa. and there are alot of good schools for you to attain your goals.I must say, that is a marvelous career choice.Call your local disability centers such as the march of dimes, and re-habiation facilites. They work with many different disabilities, and would appreciate your willingness to volunteer. That’s great of you. Good luck
