What’s the point of it? People can ask and answer questions just fine without it.

There are plenty of other sites that you can go to to post pictures. They took it away because it was being abused. If they add it back, there are people who would abuse it again.

So you don’t care if they bring it back and people abuse it, as long as you get to post pictures?

Too many people abuse it.

It’d be better to implement [img] in that case.

like encoding so you can put graphics and videos wherever.

It’s what makes people’s myspace pages ridiculously crazy and filled with crap that makes the pages take forever to load.

Obviously the people who run the site think it’s serious enough. If they can bring it back in a way that would allow it to function properly without people being able to abuse it, I would be fine with that. But I hope they don’t bring it back they way it was before.

The biggest problem that I notice is when people would mess with the fonts on the page, like make they huge or tiny, and I would have to close the browser and reopen it to correct it.

Apparently. The problem stopped when they stopped accepting html code.

Also with javascript… you can do too much. Don’t know if they allowed html + javascript, but that would be hell.

The big thing, right before the font thing, was someone put some javascript as a reply to every post that redirected anyone who opened it to an offensive website.

Wanting html back and being able to get it without opening the site to hackers are two different things. I want it back too; I just don’t think it’s going to happen.

well there must be a way the admins can allow people to allow certain html codes to work like the video embedding feature. that still works, right?

like facebook, it only allows certain html to work, like fonts and bullet points. not much else can be changed. i’m sure this site could do that.

and then, if they’re going to keep it this way, they should change help.com’s FAQ page regarding HTML that can be used. :P

This may sound like a dumb question, but the Javascript was a script?

Maybe it was just html, I don’t know, maybe it was some other super-secret thing (see I’m completely ignorant so was definitely *not* involved!) but that’s why the change happened.

I dont think it matters to me anymore. I used to use it, since it’s been gone, I dont miss it. Putting a link up does the same thing, takes away the risk factor. You can still send some one a picture, they just have to click their mouse a few more times.

I asked yourabi a while ago when it was going to get fixed he told me that he took it off because he didn’t want it so really it was never broke in the first place just an admin doing whatever the hell he wants as per usual, I would like it back but the fact is yourabi doesn’t so we have no choice in that matter :(

That’s pretty silly and derogatory “take” on my position … Do you really know what my position is? What gives?! Don’t be insulting.

I sense that too. Rather disturbing, if we are right.

I voted ‘no’ because I have no opinion but the reverse psychology of pretending to give a choice but then telling me to vote a specific way worked.

Maybe I said that wrong. I mean …. the results of an opinion poll aren’t meaningful if the pollster is influencing the opinion, so I tried to balance that a little.

i think that they could allow the insertion of pictures and stuff with bbl script or whatever. its the [img] and stuff like that. its would not be as dangerous as html.

i think that my abuse of it whas part of the problem.

anyways, it does work on the site if you know where to look…
