boyfriend help: I’m so confused..

I’m so confused..

I don’t know what to do.

My boyfriend, well now my EX boyfriend and I had an awful breakup because he just wouldn’t stop lying to me.
I’ve tried so many times to change him, and to believe him, but he just won’t stop lying..

This is the second time we’ve broken up.
It was awful, I’ve been trying so hard to get over him, but now he’s come back telling me how much he loves me and how I should reconsider because he can’t live without me blah blah.
He promises that he will never lie again…
How can I be sure?

you can’t be sure. Honestly after the second breakup, it is simply disrespectful to you. Sometimes people don’t change when we want them to, and the only way to move forward is to say that “I am worth more than this” and let go. No matter what, you come first; any relationship built on lies is difficult, if not impossible to salvage.

you deserve better. i know it’s going to be hard but you need to move on. you can’t change him. that was a lesson i had to learn the hard way.

He was my life. But now I feel so apathetic about it all.

How did he break your trust exactly, i.e. what is it specifically that he lies about? Maybe you should almost make him prove to you that he is worthy. Have a trial period of being friends. Go with your gut feeling, even if it’ll hurt.
