does sea salt contain sodium?

I don’t use salt because of high b.p. but read that the iodine in sea salt is good for thyroid.

Salt is sodium chloride so yeah it contains it, it is mainly made up of it, sea salt is just more natural thats all.

If you look at the diagram top right of this, you will see chemical composition of sea salt. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sea_salt
