What does curley mean when he says “oh, so it’s that way..?” when george tells him they travel together. and what does it mean when george says “yeah, it’s that way.”

basically its stating that George doesnt take Lenny’s pay, which is what any boss would suspect when two guys turn up for work and one is handicapped/disabled…
