Sitting help: what should i paint?

what should i paint?

i have a 4′ x 4′ canvas sitting here waiting for me to paint on it… but what should i paint? any suggestions?

Painting is mainly a form of expression…
You have to know what to paint…we cant tell you.
Just express yourself, it may be just colours, an image stuck in your head…
Thing is to paint what you feel you should rather than something you see or something someone suggested…

I always enjoyed painting big red barns. It might be because I grew up in Pennsylvania though.

i have been painting now for 12 years. i don’t always know what i want to paint. otherwise why would i ask? :) it is wonderful to get suggestions - things i wouldn’t think of. i may never use them - but it is nice to think of something new that leads to something else. sometimes i just need a jump start. because i tend to rely on old images that i love to paint … like that red barn… its good to get other ideas… like in fact… that red barn… perhaps i will paint that. :)

i love to talk about art… think about art… make art… and appreciate art.

Can I ask you your inspiration most of the time?
Would like to know your normal area of concentration ad medium as well?
Me, I like the sky, then normally add a touch of fantisy characters…
Sometimes, like painting melancholy scense… using the sky colour to add emotions…
