Thyriod problems, Parasomnia or just plain depression?

Sorry I posted something similar a bit ago, but the more I think about it.. the more I am concerned. My fiance has been on Lexapro for almost 3 weeks now, for depression. The doctors wanted to take blood work and test for Thyroid problems which run in his family because they want to make sure this isn’t the cause for his depression. He has a lot of the signs of having Hyperthyroidism (Heat intolerance, sweating a lot, pink/red skin, racing heart, ect) but he also has signs of Parasomnia (hitting, talking, ect) during sleep and waking me up. I read Parasomnia can be caused by stress and depression as well. So, I was just worried. What do you think it could be?

No, they never got the blood work done. We were on a very tight schedule that day and they brought it up out of nowhere, so we didn’t have time to wait for that. We had already spent over an hour at the doctors, just waiting.

Thanks in advance, but I hope they don’t. I was just saying they were similar. One is just about Parasomnia itself and this one is talking about that as well as other problems that could be going on.

That actually shocked me too, I didn’t know about it until I heard the doctor talk about it. After that I went home and looked it up ..sure enough, it is.

Glad I could be some sort of help. :) Maybe if it starts concering you or if you notice more relatable things, you should just check in with your doc, just to be safe. :)

I also think I might have possibly found my answer.. I read this on a Parasomnia help site:

“Many conditions directly contribute to sleep loss including cardiovascular disease, diabetes, eating disorders, heartburn, kidney or liver disease, menopause, mental illness, musculoskeletal or neurological disorders, and respiratory or thyroid problems.”
