The thing is… some of you are doing good work, but some of you have very bad judgment on what’s allowed and not allowed on the site. That’s why we discourage vigilante behavior on the site. I’ve seen a couple of cases today where the edit out of line and unneeded.
Please stop. We do not need this to deal with on top of the normal troll problem.
I apologise for any editing of posts that do not need it, I willt alk to the other and make sure we do not edit anymore posts that are real. I know today I was very distracted and I think although I was trying to help I edited one or two unneeded…
I will talk to the troll police and we will make sure we all know what not to edit okay? Our project can help if we make it better.

Thank you…but, I’m confused…don’t the mods have the option of deleting the post. People out here just report them..,correct! Is not some help, better than no help.
Because people get fooled by their traps and it makes the posts that are real impossible to find…Also people don’t waste their time on them.

Well maybe make it a feature that only long term users can use? Sorry I just think that some posts need editing…Either for putting names on or editing out it when you don’t people reading your post anymore…Or editing out troll posts that are like ‘i had sex with a goat’ I mean come on! We get such a lot of that…

That’s why we have mods. Is it really such a bad idea to let people think for themselves and decide which posts they want to read? I, for one, don’t need anyone to ‘protect’ me from trolls.

I missed this one the first time. They are allowed to ask, but they aren’t allowed to share their personal details on the forum and loan providers (aka scammers) get banned. So the whole loan asking process is pointless.
Having said that, there’s no direct rule against pointless posts. If there was, we’d have to delete 50% of all posts ever on this site… including 80% of my own :o
Most problems could be seen as financial problems, because if you had enough money you could just pay a professional to solve it for you.

i dont think they should edit it period
I apologize if I have made any mistakes in editing. I edited about three this morning, but none were asking for financial advice, and I wouldn’t edit something like that anyway. T
he ones I did edit I think one was a flame on another post of someone really asking for help, another was a scam post offering jobs to people who want to work from hom (scam) and the other was about wanting to wear blue jeans or something or other.
But if I did make an error, I apologize. I try to be extra careful before marking any posts as trolls or spam.

Hmmm well there is a time that trolls come out alot and theat is mostly at atime in the USA where all the mods are asleep or maybe by chance Ken is up late or something and in the UK there are only to other mods to my knowledge: Charlie and Mas. Now Charlie is now back at school and only has a limited amount of time on here before he has to go again and you can’t expect Mas to be on here all the time?
It is obvious that help.com needs more mods in more time zones!
Then the posts would be cleared away quicker!
I shouted Yourabi about this but had no reply so ooh well!
And yes I am part of the troll police, i am not in the USA I am in New Zealand and the time zone is completely different.
Also I hope that I have not edited anything I shouldn’t have!
And always seek others advice before editing a post and then usualy don’t.

Not really…Hate is just another word that has lost all meaning…I don’t think many words measn much nowadays…Which makes the actions speak louder tha words quote all the more powerful.
