I don’t think the two are really connected. It’s like saying “What do Christians think of ice cream?”
Well, sensible US citizens would agree that human interaction with the ecosphere has had a very negative impact and as such it is imperative that we shift away from fossil fuels or any non-renewable energies for that matter as a matter of subsistence.
As to conservative religious elements in America (e.g.: Sarah Palin), I can only extrapolate their reasoning based upon similar turns of logic such as her famous declaration that ‘God had a plan for us when we invaded Iraq, we need to trust in his will and continue the good fight’. Thus similarly the explanation for global warming from her perspective might be: ‘Global warming is just God drawing us in for a nice warm hug.’
but do christans blame god or themselfs
Again simply based on extrapolation it seems that they deny that Global Warming is a problem. The consensus from religious media figures seems to be that ‘This is a natural cycle, as God intended it to be. We need to have faith in Gods creation and focus on eradicating sin from our society.’
so do you beleve that it is all part Gods plan
we dont believe that its part of anything. Everything Happens for a reason, maybe God has something brighter on the other side. But we never know what comes next, only the creator (:
But in that case do you think that we need to act on Global warming or just pray for forgines

****…ppl is stupid….
Seems like the only plan in God’s hands is to turn politicians and ppl with power even richer, while leaving the rest of the world to die in misery…nice…
I think that ignorance is a sin against humanity, and that if we hold hands and sing Kumbaya until the ecosystem fails to support humanity then we are to blame for our resulting failure as a species.
To any conservatives that this insults, consider it in the reverse. What if a bunch of stinky sandal-wearing hippies held hands in a circle around Wall Street and chanted ‘No blood for oil!’… do you really think it would help? Wouldn’t you in some small manner blame the hippies for not doing anything productive to stop the chaos?
I don’t think prayer is the answer to anything except one individual’s connection to their concept of a creator, if they have one.
ACTION is the answer to reversing Global Warming, ACTION is the response necessary to correct the economy.

Amen…
well thank for all your comants.
i don’t think the two connect, but it is very real. whether or not the earth is cycling - it is rapid. we are making it worse
The problem here is oil, and the money ppl make from it..there already are new technologies, and sources of renewable energy, but if anyone tries to start selling it, all the big-*ss companies that get money from oil (and also governments) come down, and wipe the floor with your *ss
Or is it more insiduous? Let’s say that one particular Gov’t through military and diplomatic enterprise secures the majority of the worlds oil reserves. Let’s also suppose that this Gov’t also consumes the lion’s share of the oil thus depleting the supply beyond economically sustainable levels.
If this particular Gov’t has domestic oil reserves conveniently stashed then they would be by default the primary economic and military global power by rights of access to a depleted energy resource.
Now also suppose that this Gov’t leads the technological revolution in clean energy and renewable resources. Not only could that Gov’t put the squeeze on oil dependent nations, it could monopolize the clean energy market as well.
*Personal Note* I don’t actually believe in conspiracies, I just like to point out humorous and seemingly portentious coincidences. Certainly there a few corrupt power-mad individuals in positions of authority but I don’t actually believe in a global or national cabal that controls the masses of sheeple.
*Disclaimer* If any agent of the Gov’t should for some unknown reason stumble upon this thread however randomly or otherwise… I LOVE my Gov’t and would never insinuate in any fashion that MY Gov’t made any poor or abusive decisions.

lol
The earth runs in cycles as we know. At some point in time during the time when Mammoths roamed the earth there is evidence that the ice caps may have melted partially or completely. We have contributed little to this natural cycle. We are just now beginning to understand and study weather on the sun. We have discovered direct corolations between earth and mars regarding global cycles as well.
As far as oil we need to drill as much as possible and become indepenent for oil and not depend so much on rouge nations to supply us. An unrealistic picture is being painted of alternative fuels and electric. We are in fact 50+ years away from such stuff our current infastructure is not even close. We need to go offshore more and find more ways to extract more oil from places like Alaska.

lol, you’re crazy
we need to change our current situation, so that w can get to that future, without floods and ****….
I know the X gens and the mellenials think I am there are still some boomers that know these facts.
Yes, just like the boomers understand and have a handle on the delicate intricacies of global market economics :)
Truth be told, none of us REALLY know what’s going on.
But, if you keep betting on one particular horse and keep losing, and then KEEP betting on that horse and now the horse is dying and the stands are sinking into the ground… maybe it’s time to try a different horse?
Really, what is the practical harm of green energy? Once green energy is efficient it will be much more cost effective than gas, in the long run saving us $. What is the practical harm of gas? Long term costs more and runs out… and potentially causes the extinction of the human species.
Green pill, little rough to swallow at first but later on will definitely be good for you. Red pill, tastes like candy and goes down smooth, but will very likely cause the runs and potentially kills you.
I choose the green pill :)
can any one help me

It sounds quite logical what you say…

I believe is not exactly the same!
The impact of Ice cream is not so negative on the human existence to hold Christianity responsible as in the case of Global Warming.
What do you say?
Perhaps Christianity is not taking the Word of God things seriously. In that case, why would they take the Judgement Day seriously? Doesn’t the Bible say that the sinners will burn in the end?
I’m a Christian myself and what I beleive is that we are in a natural global cycle that has little to do with man. There is a substantial amount of evidence to support this. One of the more interesting is that there is known evidence that the polar ice caps did melt substially during the time the Mammoths roamed the earth. Other stuff is the corolation with Mars and its cycles as well as recent understanding of weather on the sun. There are other times in which the earth experienced global warming and cooling so this is not unusual in any way. Greenhouse gases are mostly emitted by the trees so again man has had little to do with this cycle its a natural occurance.
