I’m 14 years old.

Everybody in my grade is still in the stage where you can’t have boy friends. Only boyfriends exist. It’s not fair. I made a new friend at school. HIS name is Duncan. We have a lot of things in common. Yet it sucks — nobody, including my parents, think that boy friends exist. only boyfriends. I have to wait until I’m away from my parents, sister, or even some of my friends to call him. There’s this one guy who I hate and his name is Dan, and one of my friends thought I liked him because I always acted like I hated him. I told her NO that I really HATE his guts. I was also talking to Duncan online at the time, and I said ‘Duncan amuses me.’ and she goes ‘I know who you like now.’ and signed off! First of all, I HATE Dan’s guts. Second of all, I admit I like Duncan. AS A FRIGGEN FRIEND.

ohh yes, if you say “My friend Duncan” Everyone goes “oooooo you have a boyfriend”.
It’s terrible when people treat you so immaturely.

But really, as long as you know it’s a friendship and how you feel about him (and Dan) that’s all that matters. Just learn to push what everyone else says aside. They don’t have anything to do with how you feel

I’m just sick of it! Duncan even has a girlfriend! We’re just FRIENDS.

And Dan…he did something to me and my friends that we’ll never forget. But my friends have made a promice to not tell anyone else about what he did…and how it affected us. So it’s not like I could tell THIS girl .. (the one who said I liked Dan) about it. It’s just so annoying. :\

You don’t have to justify anything to her. You don’t like Dan. He treated you and your friends bad. So you don’t have to like him.
People can joke (out of boredom, etc.) that you like him but who cares what they say?

Oh the dilemas of teen life :)
Yeah your at the age where hormones replace all logic and this unfortunatly gives everyone else the idea that boy-friends can’t and don’t exist but only people you want to date, sad really but true, good side to this though is that it is only age that makes people think this so as you get older it will change.
