ok, i need a SMALL dog in NC

i was supposed to get a little chihuahua, but the people changed their minds and decided they wanted to keep it, AFTER they let me come look at it (isnt that mean?)
and so now i need to find a new little dog. preferably FREE. must not be bigger than 20 lbs. pref. smaller than that.

Free? Don’t know about that. If you were willing to pay, a toy poodle would be great. They are small, and they don’t shed their hair, so you don’t end up endlessly cleaning up after them. They are highly intelligent, and they don’t look all ‘poodly’ with ridiculous tails and curly hair. Though they can do if you groom their hair that way, but I would never dream of doing that!! They are child friendly and very docile animals. But they do cost, unless you find someone willing to give them to good owners for free

Why don’t you get a paulmatarian, I think that’s what it’s called.

You should adopt a dog from a shelter.

Definitely go to a shelter. I worked in one, and the dogs there are so loving and adorable, and they really deserve to find a good, caring, loving home. Yes, some of them have gone through a lot and a very few do have some problems due to this, but it makes it all the more rewarding when you gain their trust and love. And that would be only a very small number of them anyway

you can find a small dog no problem, just keep looking. They can’t only just have big dogs!

If you can get it as a pup it shouldn’t. I had one a few years back and he was great.

Check craigslist for surrounding areas and the dogs they have there. What are are you in? I live in NC as well. Our local Wal*Mart has a car or two every weekend giving away free dogs. You may have to go somewhere other than a 10 mile radius to get exactly what you want. Shitzu’s are good lap and small dogs, easily trained as well.
