O.k.

I need some advice. I just started college and I am living on campus. I have social anxiety disorder and I am not on meds right now. My question is this, should I go home, try meds and try again next year? I have been thinking about it since I got here and I just don’t know the answer.

You’ve been diagnosed by a professional and you don’t have meds? Most professionals now a day suggest pharma-therapy for this disorder. It sounds pretty obvious to me. If you can’t calm yourself with meditation, diet or some other way, then yes - try again later after you go a round with the meds. I personally don’t favor meds, opting personally for talk therapy… but there are extreme cases where the meds are required.

Bright blessings ~ Richard

Your school has a counselor of some sort, right? I would suggest talking to them. Adapting to school is always hard, I wouldn’t think this would be any different next year. I would suggest getting some sort of therapy, either through your school or otherwise, and see where that takes you. I think there are alot of avenues you should explore before giving up, I went through the same thing and eventually found my balance. Good luck!
