I’m now reminded of a newspaper story I read while I was vacationing near Pensacola, Florida a few years ago.
For reasons I don’t remember, George Bush and a small entourage were also in the same area at the same time. John McCain was part of that group.
Well, this particular newspaper article was about where they all went for lunch that day. In other words, it was a fluff piece.
The reporter interviewed the owner of this sandwich shop restaurant, some of the other employees, some of the other customers, etc.
As I recall, George W. Bush ordered a bacon lettuce and tomato sandwich with a vanilla milkshake. Everyone else in this group with George W. Bush simply said, “Me, too”.
In other words, it sure appeared that no had the courage to buck George W. Bush, even about what they were having for lunch. And John McCain was in this group. McCain didn’t even have the courage to order what he really wanted for lunch.
If McCain can’t stand up for himself regarding something as simple and innocuous as ordering what he really wants for lunch, then how is John McCain going to have the courage to do what’s right for the people of the United States of America?
