im really glad the bailout didn’t go through.
Ok so where would the money come from magic. Also were spending more money then we have
the same exact thing happened in the great depression we went in to a ression, spent more money then we had. I’m getting ready for a collapse. and look what brought the depression world war one. Then when countries payed us for the loans we gave them they gave us land. Then we instantly sold it to cover our debt it flooded the market. Thats what were doing now with foreclosed homes. BUT unfortunately what got us out is a War WW 2. SAME exact **** is going to happen. Im really pissed to day beacuse i just realized this.im worred about my dad’s job im worreied if i can still work at college. I have a government job at home, but thats not going to cover school. The next ten years are going to be brutal. And im a democrat but i hope to god that barrac gets the best on his team. and if he doesn’t were screwed. People are giving m genaration a world of ****. We had our 90s and now were payin for it. AND the bad part is in two years im going to be in a **** load of dept because of school loans. if my dad’s business fails i’m going to a state school. he’s smart i hope he prevails

Where were you?

When asked what his greatest accomplishment had been during his two terms as President, Andrew Jackson replied “I killed the Bank.” He was talking about the “Second Bank of the United States”, which was our country’s second central bank.
If you feel there is finical trouble ahead for you, and if you need to take out a load of debt to pay for school now; then you should consider going to a state school now instead of waiting to see if your dad’s business fails. People taking loans to pay for private schools that they can not afford otherwise is part in percale with the problems we are facing now; people have over extended themselves with debt, there is no reason for you to continue the cycle. Education is what make of it, how much you read and pay attention and ect, it is not wise to go into debt simply to go to a private school.
Debt is not a good thing, unfortunately in our society we have come to accept it as a normal part of life. That’s why we are where we are.
The great depression started when the populace became frightened in the solvency of the financial institutions of the country and on mass pulled their wealth back from investment in an uncontrolled and unmanaged way. The result was a swiftly shrink economy that could no longer support the populace. The economy remained in this shrunk and freighted state for a prolong period of time because there nothing to belay the fears of people and cause them to stop pulling back. It was a propitiating cycle; until WW2 began and jump started the economy.
The fear of not having the bailout is that people will once again loss faith in the solvency of the financial institutions of the country and on mass pulled their wealth back from investment in an uncontrolled and unmanaged way. Which can cause another depression.
I can’t tell you if the bailout would have made matters worse or better. Not having the bailout has certainly made things worse. The dow drooped 600 points today, and will continue to drop. Its only a matter of time limping along like this before the Economy passes a point of no return.
It is better that this economic model fails sooner rather than later.
In the long term, this model is squandering our natural wealth.
By natural wealth I mean the biosphere that sustains us.
It dies then we die.

Maybe, But will you be happy when you are living squallier? You can be sure it will not be some green pasture utopia when the worlds economy collapses.
The oldest Measurement to measure is a Scale .2Bowls going up and down like a Seesaw
You don’t have to be a Genius to put things in the Bowls to see which Bowl is going up or which Bowl comes down .Supply and demand Is a great measurement. Have or have not is another .Trying to control the World is the greatest and that my Friends cost a lot of Money the US hasn’t got .No good printing the stuff if there is no Gold to buy it.Hitler did .The Loaf of Bread was million Marks Toilet Paper 3 mill.
all these Companies are all overpriced .Not even worth a Quarter of what they put on Paper .Let them fall like an old Tree and see the real Value.Reduce the Army Air force and Navy Don’t let Companies out of America to cheaper Places just to make more Profit, and give money back to the People not to the Cronies of Bush .Sad that Obama voted for the bailout….

Why is gold worth anything to you?
If you reduce the Army Air force and Navy how can you possibly stop Companies from leaving America. Your going to ask them nicely not to go?
Da-11: “The Economy” is the fanticy. The economy is just a mathematical model of the flow of value through our societies. This model has been diverging from reality for a few decades now. We need a new model that includes the so called “
externallities.”

Yes; and when I agree with you, I must still ask the question: will you be happy when you are living squalor? You can be sure it will not be some green pasture utopia when the worlds economy collapses. Even if the model has been diverging from reality for a few decades now.
The one and only thing I am pleased about is that I am finally seeing people getting involved and caring about what is happening in the government. I have talked about this junk on this site before..like a plague that the country denies till it is on their doorstep. Well it is knocking now and people are noticing, which gives me some sense of hope that even though the government may be screwed up and in the end may mess us up, that for once we are together in this crisis.

That is a silver linging if ever I heard one. If we go down, we all go down together.

I like to think I have my cynical musings, they tend to get me through the day.
Mr. Chairman, we have in this country one of the most corrupt institutions the world has ever known. I refer to the Federal Reserve Board and the Federal Reserve Banks. The Federal Reserve Board, a Government board, has cheated the Government of the United States and the people of the United States out of enough money to pay the national debt. These twelve private credit monopolies were deceitfully and disloyally foisted upon this country by the bankers who came here from Europe and repaid us for our hospitality by undermining our American institutions…The people have a valid claim against the Federal Reserve Board and the Federal Reserve banks. said Congressman Louis T. McFadden, Chairman of the House Committee on Banking and Currency from 1920–31, accused the Federal Reserve of deliberately causing the Great Depression.
ARE WE FACING ANOTHER GREAT DEPRESSION?
I’m ready to tighten my belt and pull myself up by the bootstraps, but then again I’m a PATRIOT:)!
Da! Gold is the Measurement of printing Money .No gold no Printing of money .World banks trying to bail Out the US Dollar But if there is no more gold to measure it by No more bail out. Stopping Companies what are American Companies simply by make it a Law they have to pay the Oversees Worker the same Wages,This can be done from simply talking to the other Government the want to go to..Bet these companys stay were they are….
DA-11: You write of “squalor” and “green utopias.” It is not this or that. We should have changed a long time ago. We have to look farther ahead now as we should have been doing 30 years ago. Reacting to crisis is not going to fix things.

Slimline2, I didn’t ask what gold is used for in terms of printed money. I asked what makes gold worth anything?
Your going to make it a law that companies can’t leave? How would you enforce that law? All a company need do is close and open else where. Why would governments of other countries stop them simply because you talked to them? Especially if you don’t have any army air force or navy to bake up that talk?:
Let’s not feed the alligator hoping it will eat us last:)!!!!!!!!!
Alligator = Federal Reserve
Us = The USA citizens

Fine, we should have done a lot of things a log time ago.
But that does not change my question to you. You stated you would like to see the collapse of the current model, sooner rather than latter, a collapse will reduce humanity to live in a state of squalor. Which might in the end be good for humanity and the plant. But that’s a big might and far far into the future. Will you be happy living in squalor?
I also have some pasta to get me through the day. Point is no one individual can do anything right now to change it; so yeah whatever will be will be and we are just going to have to deal with it. Have we not learned yet that what we say or care about is not always what the government cares about, why should or would this be any different…only because should this collapse continue… they are going to be on the streets with me and you all…my goodness for once they will not have that economic ladder to stand above us on…and who knows what we we do to them in a street fight. Either way…stay strong my middle-working class friends….
SoulRising…me and you,.,…we will shine boots and bring it back to the little people. lol.
I think with or without the bailout we are in trouble…one is just delaying the downfall..and maybe leaving us in more debt. My concern about the bailout is…let’s say this deal goes through and other companies and banks eventually face this problem…then what? Do we bail them out too? Do not under estimate the power of precedence; despite the fact that I understand this could be terrible, but there needs to be some changes now, during, after.. I don’t care when… because this junk cannot keep happening…the people cannot afford it. Our Government itself is in debt… passing debt onto another debt..stacking debt on debt…there is no end till someone makes one.
You see you dont have to have an army or Air Force or navy to talk to the other country . All conflicts can be solved by Negotiation.Well what makes Gold worth anything ? What makes the paper Dollar worth anything? Its only Paper with Dollars prited on..

lets not through the baby out with the bath water.
Bath water = corrupt banks and government
baby = A society to large to exist unregulated financially and would collapse into disarray; who are well beyond pulling up their boot straps.
I see both sides to the debate..I guess it just comes down to how all of you feel about it. So kudos to both sides for talking about it.
Your assumption of squalor is not true. This is an image in your mind, not necessarily the reality. We used to grow food in our back yard and had fruit trees. We can do this again. I don’t need a new vehicle every 2 years or a computer.

Who is talking about conflicts? I asked how will you get other countries to deign happenings that are in their best interest?
Example: China has improved dramatically with the influx of foreign business. Why would china agree to deign this for you?
Well what makes Gold worth anything ? What makes the paper Dollar worth anything? Its only Paper with Dollars prited on..
granted a paper dollar is only paper with a dollar printed on it. and gold is just a rock. What makes either of these things worth anything.

I’m not throwing any baby out. The United States of America got along without any inflation for 137 years. We never had any inflation until they put in the Federal Reserve in 1913.

It is reality, it has been shown time and time again on smaller scales and you are calling for it on a bigger scale.
We may have grown fruit in out back yard, but a lot has changed since them. Some of use don’t even have yards anymore. How do you plan for them to feed themselves. new vehicle every 2 years or a computer is the least of your problems. Death and disease from a population to large to sustain itself because it can no longer function properly is what you will be dealing with.
What will be will be. Nothing you or I can do about it.

After 1913 we had the crash of 1929.
And now we’ve had the crash of 2008!
We do have a voice, but then again I am a Patriot:)!
I can see Communism’s laughing all the Way.Wouldn’t be wonderful if it worked
Let it rest….ok… whether it is now or later it is all going to shambles….I think we all agreed on that… so you are either going to be growing fruit trees this season or in ten years.. or your kids will be… either way… why fight each other over it.

Hey… I am a patriot too… i also believe that a patriot is someone who stands up when something is wrong….So I am with ya there.. I see both sides… I just want the people to get together and deal with whatever is going to happen.
