Next time you invite me to simulate reality, please make it something a little more exciting than a haircut:).

I thought so too. Just a little point, it isn’t as effective after you have listened to it several times.

It was the only thing I could find. I still find it fascinating considering the sound is only coming from two sources, but still gives a sense of more.

I agree, it does sound very realistic. I don’t usually search for YouTube videos either, but I decided to search for it because I first heard it on my Uncle’s phone and thought it was cool.

I’m glad you liked it. When you listen to it for the first time it is really bizarre. However, it doesn’t feel the same once you have listened it about 8 times. :D

OMG I only just saw this, its brilliant! I listened to it with my eyes closed and my daughter next to me and when it had finished she was in hysterics because I kept jumping. I had to open my eyes when they did the bag bit and jumped a mile when they clicked and whispered. Are there any more like this?

I did see another version of this that someone had uploaded. However, they had recorded in mono, which totally ruined the effect. LMAO!

I hate those sort of videos. The ones that start off really quiet and then there is a sudden scream accompanied by some weird image. My brother’s friend showed me one once and it scared the crap out of me.

I found some at a site which sells microphones for making these types of recordings.

But its not “holophonic” it’s binaural, which means its not distributed and interpreted across your brain in the same way as the cetera algorythm.
I can’t find anything else as explicitly perceptual as the virtual barbershop…
I was so tense throughout that whole thing… I didn’t even have headphones, but jeez, I think I almost had a heart attack when he whispered. I can’t remember ever actually audibly gasping, but I did then. xD I am so forcing my friends to listen to this when they come over in a few weeks. It’ll be fun to watch them.
Oh, it’s a lot better when you’ve got headphones! The whispering part sent shivers up my spine the first time I listened to it.
It’s remarkable how it actually works when you take into account that there are ONLY two sound sources: the left and right speaker/headphone.
Yep… I think I’ll wait some weeks/months/long periods of time, until I’ve mostly forgotten it, and then listen with headphones and see how it is. :D
