How do i cure my social anxiety disorder?

I’m scared to talk to people. Especially in large groups.

You can’t exactly ‘Cure’ an Anxiety disorder… you can only really, manage it..

Maybe, slowly integrating yourself to small (tiny) groups, and VERY SLOWLY moving to larger groups once you start to feel comfortable… Don’t drink alcohol (Like, drinking might make you feel more comfortable.. but you won’t be treating the problem..) maybe asking a close friend to go with you for some emotional support??

I’m scared mostley when talking with more than one person. I find it easier when there’s just me and someone else.

I am really struggling with that right now too. I am seeing a counselor at my college hoping that it will help. I know there are meds out there that can help so talk to your doctor and see if any of them might work for you. I know easier said than done.

I mostly hang out by myself. I know how hard it is. I can barely function when I am around people.

It might help to get on some kind of medication. I know I don’t want to, but if it comes right down to it I would rather be on meds than cower in a corner evertime a group of people tries to contact me. Are you living at home? Like with parents?

Do they know about you social anxiety? If so see if they will help you get some help, be it counseling or meds. counseling has helped me in the past.

I felt that way with my parents too. Try talking to them. Explain that you have a hard time being around other people and would like to get some help. Tell them how long you have been feeling this way. Do you have panic attacks? If so tell your parents about them. They may be more willing to help if they know just how this makes you feel on a day to day basis.

Same here. But, I absolutely REFUSE to let this get the best of me. Keep trying for help and talking to people you trust and things will work out.

Worrying is a bad habit, you need to overcome it like any other bad habit. Try to modify the factors under your control, that is the only thing you can do. From http://mshn.org/worry.html
