I am so mixed on this issue a part of me wants the banks to fail and for us to take the pain it is going to cause, that way we can get back to functioning with out all this credit people have come to depend on.
But then I also understand bailing out the banks to keep this disaster from destroying so many innocent peoples lives. But then I do not know what will prevent it from happening again.
I am glad I am not in that room trying to find the right answer, because I do know what is best.

I feel the same way about it… it is a very tough and rather interesting time to be around.

I have not called… just signed petitions. For the state and congress… one for all the representations .. each getting one letter and then one overall petition to congress.

It is a matter of sooner or later babacup, not “IF”
It is a system that is corrupt, it is based on fraud and deception.
The fraud of Western Finance is that the Federal Reserve creates money from nothing, everybody can get rich by selling each other fictitious financial instruments that do not have a connection to reality. The $700 billion financial bailout created in Washington is an example of Western Medicine’s “treat the symptoms”. The $700 billion financial bailout created in Washington is an example of Western Medicine’s “treat the symptoms”. Rather than address the root cause of the problem (the Fed’s control over the money supply and the very structure of fractional-reserve banking), politicians are satisfied with a series of financial band aids. This allows them to insist the problem has been solved.. Rather than address the root cause of the problem (the Fed’s control over the money supply and the very structure of fractional-reserve banking).
What kills me about it is that there are people voting for this bill….KNOWING that it is a piece of junk and may not work… that and for some reason the media really believes that the American People are stupid and cannot see what this is going to do to our individual lives.

The media is owned by the Banks.

Exactly it just gets me fired up…I am trying to come up with a way to write about it on some sites and the thoughts are just running in circles. lol
“If we run into such debts that we must be taxed in our meat and in our drink, in our necessaries and our comforts, in our labors and our amusements, as the people of England are, our people, like them, must come to labor sixteen hours of the twenty-four; and give the earnings of fifteen of these to the government for its debts and daily expenses; “And the sixteenth being insufficient to afford us bread, we must live, as they now do, on oatmeal and potatoes, have no time to think, no means of calling the mismanagers to account; but be glad to obtain subsistence by hiring ourselves to rivet their chains on the necks of our fellow sufferers; “And this is the tendency of all human governments. A departure from principle in one instance becomes the precedent for a second, that second for a third and so on ’til the bulk of the society is reduced to be mere automatons of misery, to have no sensibilities left but for sinning and suffering…”And the forehorse of this frightful team is public debt. Taxation follows that and in its train wretchedness and oppression.” Thomas Jefferson, 1803
I have not read any of the previous posts, so I may be reduntant here….
But I LOVE THE USA!!! This country has many faults and it will take a change in society/society’s mentality to change it….and change will be a long time coming. I think that the 3 R’s are missing in people in America today:
*Respect
*Responsibililty
*Reliabililty
People have gotten lazy in this country, due to our great wealth,* and have allowed the “wool to be pulled over their eyes.” It’s time we stood up for what is right….whether it be with congress or just in our own neighborhoods. Change starts small….
*(SIDE NOTE) about wealth: even the “poor” of America are wealthier than 75% or more of the world. So, keep that in mind: it COULD be worse.
Oh, and all the times I used “change” in my previous post DOES NOT refer to one of the current presidential candidates :)
Hello JellyBelly:)
You sound like what America should be made of.
“The only thing necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing.”

in times past,
every seven years, people were absolved of debts, i wonder if we did something kind of like this, would things be much better.
we couldnt just cancel all debts every seven years, unless the nation stopped relying on credit so much, but its an interesting thought.

I think if people were absolved of debts every 7 yrs, people would build up huge debts knowing they do not have to pay them.
Fire and babacup I agree that this is an illogical solution. One a bad parent might portray on spoiled children who are only satisfied with magical solutions and no consequences to what choices they make in life.
I was just sent this hyperlink by Patrick S.J. Carmack, J.D. Producer of The Money Masters.
This may not be the complete or final solution to the current “Federal Intervention in Financial Markets” but it is the first independent (not government) I have seen.
I am crying, I am mourning. McCain and Obama seem to serve the same master. It seems in this nation like all others you either die for freedom or live with tyranny. My heart grieves as my mind accepts. This is God’s battle between good and evil. Only God can win, we are but instruments in his time table. We must serve God and accept God is in charge. I endure the time until God chooses the moment. As an American who cherished the true meaning of equality and the freedom of thought, speech, and choice, one who hoped justice might rule if given a chance, the true American dream was not of material wealth. It was freedom. Usery will never allow freedom, greed will never allow freedom, a land without God will never allow justice. Doublespeak of Userers rules the nations with confusion. Yet we the people who are called by his name must protect the innocent.
“If MY people which are called by MY name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek MY face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from Heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” II Chronicles 7:14
We created a nation with the documents to keep her strong and we allowed anyone in and we believed without reason.

Federal Intervention in Financial Markets
House Resolution 1525
Yea 195 Nay 159
Can anyone tell me who is going to get this money (all of the small banks are being bought up by the large banks)? This is normal procedure that has been going on on Wall Street for years (Mergers and Acquisitions), it is the normal American way.
What is accomplished in open warfare, destroying a nation’s infrastructure, has been accomplished today in America, without firing a shot or nuclear weapons.

Sorry it took me sooooo long to get back with you Fire, I had to do my research:)
Evidence suggests that as early as 1600 BC a general amnesty, including debt cancellation and a return to forfeited homesteads, was normally proclaimed by new rulers on the first day of the new year following their accession. The social structures of those times were tied directly to the seasons. Ancient civilizations were forced to be in balance and harmony with the rhythms of the natural world or perish. Then as now, debt disturbed the harmony, breaking down economic balance and the self-sufficiency of family enterprises. Throughout history there appears to have been unanimity among philosophers and later among theologians as to the moral implications regarding the taking of interest.

babacup, there is a reason God governs men. We are not capable of keeping just on our own accord. The act of Usery has been denounced since ancient Greek and Roman times. Christians, Hindu, Buddhist and Islamic doctrine have all forbade Usery, which was simply defined as lending money for profit.
“We must obey GOD rather than men.” Acts 5:29
Goodnight for now.

“We the People have spoken”
HR 3997 Nay 228 Yay 205 Federal Intervention in Financial Markets
America’s representatives are voting on principle instead of their wallet. There is hope for the United States of America after wall street. We have a strong Constitution:)! The Constitution of the United States of America. Let’s not let the Banks run America, of course they are going to make it painful, be prepaired for their antics, After 1913 we had the crash of 1929.
And now we’ve had the crash of 2008!
Tighten your belt, pick yourself up by the bootstraps, Americans are tough, but then again I am a Patriot:)!.
