The connectedness of all things!

Ok folks, I haven’t posted for a while, but I’m having some time off from assignments, yet again, and since I’ve been getting some really good support and feedback for my earlier posts, I thought it was time to do a new one, and also to let everyone know that I’m still around, and thinking my interesting ideas!

Anyway,

It is my personal belief that everything in the world and the universe is connected.
You’ve probably experienced those moments, when someone you think about someone you haven’t seen in years, and then days later they just appear in your life, whether its a phone call or in person.

I’ve seen this pattern prevail almost constantly in my life.
Its a big mysterious world out there, and there is so much more to it than most of us have been raised to believe, or are aware exists.

So, post some interesting stories of ‘coincidence’ and I might tell you some of mine :)

I do.

I find it coincidence that some people look ALIKE despite their beliefs, language, ethnicity, nationality, and race.

I think that has something to do with the gene pool. Scientifically speaking!
There is also another concept… its along the same lines as people looking like their pets, but related to other intangible things that connect them!

Quite possibly. I think it sort of relates to both nature and nurture.
Nature = gene pool etc…
Nurture = upbringing, beliefs, and soul journey!

So… I can’t think of any specific examples, but I don’t believe in coincidence!
I’ve had too many experiences that it just can’t be coincidence.

It’s like all our souls communicate on some unspoken level!

Totally true. Some people believe in destiny.
There is a theory that we all choose a life path before we are born, and that the more you get deja vu, the closer you are to the specific life you chose for yourself.
The less connected you feel to life, ther further you are from it.

Some people believe that God rules our lives so strictly that we almost have no decision in anything.

Personally, I do think everything happens for a reason.
In my eyes, its a case of determining your own destiny, and that everything will happen for the reason of helping you to fulfill the destiny you chose for yourself!
Unfortunately, as painful as they are, that includes the bad things.

In all truth i don’t believe in this whole everything is connected, give me some good theories and hard core evidence. but at times eg. i started school in a private school which was my first five years and i hav been moving around. and let me tell u moving across the sea and all traveling. from NY to Fl. to the carrivean to well around. and i was thinking how awful it is an how i wish i would see those suckers. and hey i did meet them at my campus. alot of them from brooklyn some old neighbors from statin island and soo much which was odd but cool. and i thought this uncle of mine was dead cause i don’t keep in touch with my dads family and guess was tada i wrote a post on facebook i think and here he is in dania beach saying hello wat are the dam odds but i still don’t believe in all that crap of destiny well not today.

its the law of attraction! its works, good or bad. i split up with my ex and couldnt stop thinking about him and imagining bumping into him. and so i constantly bumped into him, sometimes in the strangest of places. it was like i was willing it happen, even though the thought filled me with dread! as time went on i stopped thinking about it so much, made a concious effort and i havent seen him for months! ill most probably bump into him toinght now…. arrgggghh! no worries, im ready for him now, i can and will handle it!

what about someone you despise randomly speaking to you after months of nothing. When you were just thiking about that person and they just randomly start talking to you. How can this be more than coincidence? Mainly if you didn’t want to talk to them cause it brings you down?

Good stuff though man

wow dougie, you’ve done it again! I love your brain!

I guess the only thing I can think of as coincidental beyond that of an everyday randomness is my boyfriend and I. For 3 years before we met, our lives crossed quite frequently, which we later found out. For example, my team supervisor in a crappy call centre job I had 3 years ago was and still is a regular friend of my boyfriend. Also, his housemate of 3 years lived with me for a year in a different city. He lived next door to my cousin, who I would visit regularly, but had never seen him when he lived there.. Constantly crossing, but we only realised when we talk about things now. And scarily it still happens! A friend of his dated an old university pal of mine, and they met randomly in a bar in London, we both got an invite to catch up in a pub, only when we looked at where and when we were meeting them did we start to freak, it shocked us more when we got there and they were a couple!
It just makes me believe we’re meant to be together. It’s odder that our paths crossed so often too as he’s from Scotland and I’m from Manchester!

Thinking about it, I just rememebered, my best friend from Uni went travelling before I met her in our first year of uni. We were in a bar chatting about how she’d taken part in a fijian wedding ceremony with a random lad from the UK, and she was meant to meet him there so we were waiting for him. That moment I spied a lad walking into the bar who I’d gone to secondary school with. Turns out (you guessed it) he was the guy who had “married” my friend.

Gives me chills down my spine when things like that happen… but it’s still mega exciting! I agree with Dougie, there are things that are meant to happen, however the influence of thinking in a certain manner can also influence the way our lives turn out. I mean, my boyfriend and I have similar tastes in the type of people we socialise with so it’s not that unlikely that we would forge similar friendships. And my friend from school and my friend from University are people who I can connect with, it’s not unlikely that if they met that they would get on… the bizarre thing in all of it is that they DID meet it’s not who, it’s where - that’s the spooky otherly worldly odd bit to all this.

hmmm, i just re-read what I wrote and it’s longwinded, and makes no sense… I’ll post it anyway and let you try to decipher my mad ramblings!

Ramblings deciphered, well mostly.
I’m glad I’m not the only one who understands the laws of attraction.
They’ve been propelling me forward (to my awareness) for quite some time now!

Now hold on friends…. I’m about to tell one of my stories!

Ten years ago I was considering moving out of home, and wanted to move to the beach.

I had just performed in a theatre production and I was smitten with this girl who was also in the cast.

I was reasonably broke and desperately in need of a new matress for my bed.

I had been down to a beachside suburb, and visited all the estate agents to see what rentals were available. On the 22nd place I went into, some hippies were outside the estate agent, and handed me a piece of paper, which I put with my real estate flyers.

I got home and read the piece of paper. It was one of those ‘Make 20 copies and give them all away and you will come into money in the next four days’ things.

So I made the 20 copies and snuck out at midnight and put them into random letterboxes around my suburb.
The other instruction was to kiss someone I loved.

So I got the playbill for the production I’d been in and kissed the photo of the girl I liked.

That night I had a dream that I went to see that movie “What dreams may come”
I knew nothing of the movie, accept for what the poster looked like, and it looked intriguing.
But in my dream, I envisioned a scene where a character is wading through paint!

The next day my pay went into the bank.

I decided to see the movie at the new cinemas at the new casino in town.

So off I went. I got to the casino.

I had recently just got my personal photo ID renewed, and I was in desperate need of the toilet. The cinemas were on the other side of the complex, so I decided to cut through the casino part, and use one of the toilets in there.

At 22, I looked about 17, so I needed my ID to get in.

Anyway, they let me in, I used the facilities, and having felt quite refreshed, thought ‘what the hell’ I will have a little flutter!

So I stopped, and tuned in, and wandered around for several minutes, and then when i got a good vibe from a poker machine sat down at it.

I put in a $50, and started playing.
I didn’t ‘know what I was doing’, so I was randomly pressing buttons.
5 minutes later a Jackpot went off on my machine, and suddenly I was up by about $800!
I smiled, as I realised I could buy that new mattress now, but kept playing anyway!

Without realising it, i had the machine set on a high bet, and the free spins feature went off, three or four times within about 10 minutes.

It was a 5 cent poker machine, and in those days it only told you the number of credits you had, not the monetary value, and divising by 5s wasn’t easy.

But I suddenly became aware that I was nearly $10,000 richer.
SO I got in a taxi and went home, and the next day put most of it in the bank!

I bought the new mattress.

And a week later I went to see the movie.
I was stunned when it contained a scene with a character wading through paint!

So there’s one of my most awesome stories.

:)

And its all true!

Hehe, yes… fate indeed.
And I was very happy…
There’s a little thing they call syncronicity, it means that the universe, life, whatever you call it is conspiring to help you, if you are willing to help yourself!
But ultimately… the choice to act on my intuition was still mine!

That’s why I’m in the camp of ‘making your own destiny’, with a bit of help from life!

making the universe work for you my friend! that is what its all about. im still trying to get a handle on my thoughts creating my world… oooh im gonna make it fab! i believe!
heres a little story not nearly as exciting as yours but it was one of my first, clicked in experiences - id just started working and moved into my own place. i was struggling badly with money. it was 2 days from payday and i had zero cash i mean i was over my overdraft. a friend from work had bought me a pack of seeds for me for 50p and i didnt have the 50p to give her! everyone laughed at me not having it, i did too but was so embarassed. in the afternoon, i was out with her walking through the park and there gn the grass was a shiny 50 pence piece! the exact amount i needed?! ive never been so happy to see one! i paid her back with it there and then and thanked the universe straight after!

That’s still a really cool story!
I guess in my case I just put out more energy than I needed for the mattress and got a really high return!

the thought of it still makes me smile, simple things eh? mainly because its when it all started making sense to me. at that time i started taking responsibilty for my world, believing, taking chances and ive not looked back since. ive had a few experiences similar to it since, my next ones gonna be a big high energy one just like yours… i can feel it!
