It might be a choice, but if you’re in a danger situation, or in an unpleasant one, I doubt you’ll be happy…

I mean:
Kidnap
Meal with her FATHER (lol)
Broken leg
You fart..in front of everybody lol

but if you can make light of it
excluding the kidnapping
you could always pretend your in a beautiful and happy place allowing the joy to flow through you even in the most horrid situation
-the song-when ever i feel afraid, i hold my head up high, and whissel a happy tune so noone will suspect im afriad

But as a feeling, as pleasure, it’s feedback that you did something good like fed yourself or exercised right or were accepted by powerful people. I’ve heard of people born without the ability to feel pain and they generally lose limbs and get into accidents until they die.

Mmmm…

Yeah kinda…but there are times we can’t control ourselves like that…

And it’s more like…it’s convenient to be happy always?

I think no…but maybe that’s why I’m sad? Or maybe you think it is a choice because you were born with happy DNA, a more upbeat personality, predisposed to feel happy.

If it was just a choice I would feel happy. I do not want to be miserable!

Philosophisizing is a choice. Or you can follow simple how-to instructions: http://www.ehow.com/how_2054811_choos…

Michael, did those steps to happiness make you feel happy? How come when I read them I felt annoyed?

I didn’t read it, I just trusted the title. Pursuing happiness is not a big concern of mine.

Okay, to be honest I just skimmed it. But it annoyed me non-the-less. I would love to feel happy. You’re already there?

I fall into happiness, like just now when Kemmy spoke to me, and other days when Red Sky spoke to me (do you know those people? they may be happiness-inducers), and sometimes I laugh so hard because I think some utterly ridiculously funny things, but it’s sort of a distraction … I’m not looking to be happy. So my idea that happiness guides choices rather than being a choice isn’t always true, but sometimes it is.

It is a very good question and I am asking myself lately a lot. I am not happy right now. So many things are going on in my life that makes me unhappy and unsatisfied at the same time. But sometimes I think that I choose to be unhappy and passive and all this sh… (Excuse my language) I don’t know why? Maybe my goals and expectations have been set too high or I am genetically fragile and fall into depression and unhappiness easily. My Mom is a very worried and anxious person and I think I am growing to become her eventually.

mojgh, you have said everything (to a T) that has made me question myself too. the reason y i became curious about others view on happyness. i try to ignore my feelings though- i dont know about you- but i find a joke everyday, if i have time, and i continually tell myself i am fine and happy. No matter what is going on in my life. i believe it is the power of the mind. Though i do not think i am genuenly happy i can pretend and it makes the people around me happy and its just a circle. i know thats confusing i hope you understand what i am saying. but anywho, i would just do everything in my power to convince myself im happy….even to the point of making my user name smily…lol
i hope things get better for you and im here if you want to talk about what is going on in your life. just give me a shout or reply back to this post. my best o wishes
