Is it offensive for a non-Muslim to wish a Muslim friend a happy Eid?

I confess that I’m fairly ignorant of Muslim culture as a Christian. A very good friend of mine has been recieving a lot of comments on her Facebook profile wishing her a happy Eid. I decided to wish her a happy Eid when we were getting off, but I’m not sure if it was a good thing to do. I know she won’t particularly be angry with me, but I’m just curious.

I remember I wished someone a Merry Christmas. Turns out he didn’t celebrate this holiday and he starts berating me and having this extreme tantrum. As he was screaming and cursing, completely out of control, I said “yeah dude, I can see why your way is better.”

Meh, I’m not Christian but I take it as a friendly gesture when people wish me a Merry Christmas. I don’t think they would take offense if you wished them a Happy Eid.

Now if you wished them a happy IED that would be inappropriate… very inappropriate.
