There are FLEAS in my room!

!!! I recently rented a room from a family that is horrifically dirty. The dog has fleas. The cat has fleas. They both wander in and outdoors so they can collect more fleas. I’ll be giving my notice soon (because ****** GROSS), but do any of you have any suggestions for what to do in the meantime? The family refuses to clean the house the way it needs to be cleaned to remove the insects and instead squirted one tube of frontline on the dog and called it good. I try to keep my room as sealed off as possible, but I’m not doing a very good job: I’ve found two fleas in here so far. YUCK!!!!!!!!!

Well the thing is untill you can inradicate the source of the fleas they will just keep comeing, both the dog and the cat need to be deflead first then once that is done you need to deflea the whole house, doinf just one room will do nothing at all.

Right, I know that, but my landlords are refusing to do anything to the rest of the house or the pets. I don’t know if it’s possible at all, but is there a way I can at least discourage them from coming into my room?

Nope, sorry, if the house is infested and so are the animals then anything you do or try to stop the fleas going into one room will not work, as I said, you need to get rid of all of them not just some.

Just cleaning won’t do a thing, fleas are not interested in a clean room or a dirty room.
My cat has had fleas before, I have a clean house but I still had to deflea each room and also the cat.

Truth is every human person has insects on them, microscopic ones, there are also dustmites and things like that, they life off dead skin cells.
Another factor is that a clean house can get fleas just as much as a dirty one.
Just but some flea stuff for the cat and dog and then get some house spray for fleas and just go though each room.
