Sleep in another room, or grab some sleeping bags and sleep in the family room. Spiders are harmless, but if your afraid, wait till morning so you can see it.

Tranquilize it, tag it, release it back into the wild…

What does it look like and how big is it? What color is it? You have to be careful as some spiders are very poisonous, and can travel to several small places. You should get rid of it now. It may try to bite you in your sleep and by the time morning comes, it will probably be long gone.

One of you could kill it. If you’re really a chicken like me try using a vaccum to do it. All you have to do is get the hose and suck it up. Leave the vaccum running a bit to make sure it’s dead.

There are no poisonous spiders in North America unless they’ve been imported and then they wouldn’t be in your bedroom.

Why, that’s not true at all. Heard of the black widow, they live all along the east coast of the united states and are fifteen times more poisonous then a rattle snake. There are several more but thats the only one I can think of off the top of my head.

Honestly, I don’t care. If the spider is still there, seven hours later, it’s amazingly persistent and besides, out of four people, you’d think one of them could grab a broom and smack it, so obviously they’re not serious.

OMG it has come to kill you and lay it’s eggs in your rotting body :S

OK, on the other side of things a spider is more scared of you and who would blame it really as your a giant that is making alot of noise and flapping around, I would be scared of you too if I were that small.
Also the spiders bite cannot penentrate human skin so even if it wanted to rip your flesh off it couldn’t, be like you trying to bite through steal.

So you can either turn the lights on and check everywhere or realise that the spider has probably run for the nearset shelter to escape the scarey giant and to be honest you did make this post about 12 hours ago so I would imagine that you have sorted it and got on with things by now.

If your still backed in a corner 12 hours later then I really do think that spider should eat you.

Thank god I for this chain email, I googled it up after I tried to catch and kill a spider in my room, the size of my palm, Imagine what i went through when I got back from the club and was taking off my shirt, what I thought was a trick of the eye/ a shadow was actually a palm size spider on my sq. pillow on my bed.

1- I tried to pull the pillow off the bed and throw it off out of my room. I had to muster the courage as I couldn’t contain the phobia. My heart was racing and my head was light, my ears were hot and I felt quaint. It got to a defensive stance and I think it was more than able to lurch onto my face.
2- I tried to capture it with a glass bowl, I was too petrified to be co-ordinated for that, and what was I to do once I got it on the underside, I was really resolute on leaving it on the kitchen table trapped. It escaped and fled to the underside of my bed, which I courageously trail.
3- I tried wacking it with roll of paper but i got deeper under. I gave up, lay on my bed, thinking of the probabability it coming back up the bed to bite me. I think it has bitten me before a couple of times. I had huge swellings that lasted for 1 week. It bit me more than 10 times already.
4- I googled and read the vacuum suggestion, took out the silent Miele Vac. (as it was 1 am!) and put it on silent and start taking off my bed cover, and I even lifted the mattress off so that I can see through the slats what I was aiming for. I rattled a lot of the stuff under my bed around.
5- I located the spider. Apparently, it got squashed when i thrashed all the stuff under my bed (thank the lord. I was hoping I didn’t have to kill it!) I vac-ed it up and left the vacuum running for approx 2 more minutes.

**** I was worried it might take a bite of me at night. Thank god it’s dead in a vacuum. RIP spidey. No offence but it chose the wrong spot tonite.

cheers. I am so relieved.
