how do i find out who owns this UK landline number?

it’s very odd that this telephone bill was adressed to me and is under my name to pay it when i have never seen this number before. i’m waiting for a reply from the provider but no word yet. for now, i just wanna know how do i find out about this number that i “own” apparently. i mean, i searched my name for a telephone number and it is the right one - the one that i know about. so where did this other number come from??

Here’s what I found for you…It’s a bit involved but you should be able to find the info you need. It’s for a reverse phone number lookup in the UK.

I suggest that for reverse lookup in the UK you have to do a bit more work than in the US!

First go to the UK Telephone Code Locator:

http://www.warwick.ac.uk/cgi-bin-Phon…
which does a really good job of locating geographically your STD and first 2 or 3 numbers from the subscribers number.

If necessary also try The Brainstorm Telephone Code Service:

http://www.env.co.uk/utils/std-codes….
Then using a combination of the UK online phone directory:
http://www.thenewbt.bt.com/phonenetuk/
And the UK online yellow pages:
http://www.yell.co.uk/
Using the information from the UK Telephone Code Locator you can usually locate what you want.
