i worked in a psychiatric hospital and had hours of workshop and training.

and when bipolar disorders are correctly diagnosed the patient is not usually younger than 23. humans are not “officially” adults until the age of 25 - as far as mental development. and bipolar disorders are mature.

but just because its not diagnosed until 23, it doesnt mean that you dont have it does it? couldnt it just be that the younger people are afraid to speak up?

i know that i am classified as clinical depressed and often wonder myself if i could be bi polar due to the meds dont work all the time it seems… i can be fine and then slide off that cliff, just barely hanging on.

no, bipolar disorders are not something that can hide or be ignored. if you have it, you will know it.

yes, urine sane is correct. mood swings are not bipolar mood disorders. disorders are serious and don’t hide under denial and shame. disorders cannot be controlled by your own conscience.

disorder means there is a lack of order… something is not functioning properly - someone with a true mood disorder would be manic and think they are being completely normal. having any awareness on your mood means you are functioning properly.
