It seems to be plants with a nitrogen deficiency.

Ok because you’ve helped me so much already do you think you’d be able to answer this question for me: Do etiolated plants have long or short inter-nodes? XX

No idea. I’d say short because they have a defficiency. I asked my older brother who is a horticulturist, but he hasnt replied yet.

He also said etiolated plants have a light deficiency, not a nitrogen deficiency.

Whoa, etiolated does not mean N deficiency! It defines a habit of plants to grow weak, elongated (leggy) stems in a low light environment. Internodes means between nodes (the sites on a stem from which leaves or other branches emerge) so an elongated stem will have nodes that are farther apart.

If you can dial out from a class, why aren’t you plugged into any of the excellent reference sites on the Net instead of asking questions on a forum where answers are often wrong? IMHO, you should append URLs to the best ref sites to your MySpace page.

Yeah, sorry about that. I changed my answer when I got some proper information. It was a 2 second search.

Sorry, bogdan, didn’t notice your correction until after I posted. Was feeling extra grumpy yesterday which results in a See Post/Launch Rant process. Sometimes I get irked at how many people turn to Help.com for answers they should easily be able to find on their own. I tend to forget that the education system is broken. Little wonder a failed 2-party system can field incompetent candidates who dish out pabulum, effete legislators who never fix anything, and yet the majority still believe they’re being represented. Hmmm, well, maybe in a way they are. They’re certainly getting what they deserve for not demanding better. (clearly, I’m still grumpy)
