If you’re using a school or library computer interface, you probably won’t have access to the server-based files. If it’s your PC, and you or your partner haven’t used the HD much since, there’s a possibility. You’ll need an undelete program and a utility that reads index.dat files. Both can be found by searching freeware and undelete and freeware and index.dat file reader. Make sure the software is compatible with your machine, and scan the install zip or exe for viruses before using. Save and install to a different partition so you don’t overwrite anything on the C drive.

Addendum - if you need software names, my preferred data recovery/undeleter is Recuva. It’s free and has a decent reputation. For reading index.dat files (which are not text files), try Index.dat QV or WinSpy Index.dat Viewer.
Caveat - I haven’t time to post direct links, but if you try WinSpy, I see a notation on my folder to only download their free wssetup.exe file and not the trackeraserpro.exe file.

A third possibility is to do a System Restore (if you use WinXP) though that’s fraught with unexpected (negative) consequences, especially the longer it’s been since you made a Restore Point. If your system is set to make a new Restore Point every morning and you haven’t made many changes to your computer in the past couple hours, it might be worth trying.
This might be a good time to recommend a handy little donateware utility called Desktop Restore that can instantly restore icon layouts on monitors if something like System Restore screws them up.

At least with WinXP, I don’t believe History files are moved to the Recycle Bin when deleted.
