Can you add me to the pole? I already give shouts to people I don’t know who have just joined!

Besides, there isn’t something like “the newbies place”, where I can actually meet them…lol, I also need to search for them…
I voted for D_O_E because you’re the one who started it all.
Thanks to all that voted for me! :)
I was kinda joking, but really, you’re the brains behind this outfit.
now, thinking about this thread, are you acctually planning a welcoming committee?
I think this kind of shows how people can make websties what they are, not just the admins.
this makes me think.
imagine an e- town, where everyone in it makes it what it is, applying jobs and tasks to each other, with the main admin as the mayor and the mods as police.
it would find only the most dedicated people though.
this would be cool. in my opinion.
kind of like animal crossing if anyone played that game, but every one is acctually a person on the computer

Sounds like hardcore animal crossing….
Marx wrote:

Yep. Good idea…
yes. i found animal crossing eventually boring, because there was no real people to talk to.
imagine if everyone was real. real responses. real ideas.
imagine if they got people together, they voted on officials and laws/rules and then there are thre branches like the US.
when you break a rule, you get tried in e- court, they decide if you are to be banned and for how long.

no problem, this sounds super, I might join later.
I am not leader material, but i like where this is going.
also the weeds in AC were terrible and were just tools to keep people playing

Doesn’t committee mean more than one person?
I mean if it is just one person thn it would be the welcom host.
Good idea though but I think most new people get welcomed in sooner or later, I know I say hello to new people when I know they are there.
Count me also. what a great idea :)
Just to let you know I voted
would positions even be needed?
No. If there’s some experienced HTML hacker, he/she could overthrow the mods/admins and we’d be a socialist utopia. :)

Oh yeah, poverty, corporations, despotism! What a marvelous system! And don’t point to Stalin, he was a dictator, not a socialist. Same case with Mao, Pol Pot, etc. Pure socialism has not been implemented… yet.

Culture, bleh, don’t care, everything has culture of some sort. hard work, but no jobs? Education, far enough.

Kinda…yeah
“International Monetary Fund data rank the French economy eighth largest by purchasing power parity (PPP) in 2007 at US$2,046,899 million. The World Bank, in 2008, estimated France’s GDP in 2006 to be US$1,959,745 million, or seventh largest in the world by PPP. Rankings published by the CIA World Factbook in 2008 determine France’s GDP, at $2.067 trillion, to be the eighth largest, again by measurement of PPP.”

Vilén wrote:

Socialist are visionaries by nature…that’s why they can’t get anywhere, too much vision, too little actions…
And the ppl in power in socialism was also driven by the same motives that drive the capitalists today….
It’s funny how capitalists “let slip” the current economic crisis which would not have happened with socialism.
“France’s income inequality (measured by the Gini coefficient) has remained low compared to other economies where it has increased considerably. Moreover, France’s poverty rate remains one of the lowest in the world[citation needed], at 6% (compared to 15% in the United Kingdom and 12% in the United States)”
In capitalism, the people who work less (corporations) make more, and the people who work more (poor, working class Americans) make less. Anyway, who cares; I’m not endorsing any viewpoint here.
“Socialism refers to a broad set of economic theories of social organization advocating state or collective ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution of goods, and the creation of an egalitarian society. Modern socialism originated in the late nineteenth-century working class political movement. Karl Marx posited that socialism would be achieved via class struggle and a proletarian revolution, it being the transitional stage between capitalism and communism.”
Because there couldn’t be such a big economy in socialism…
And at some point, socialism would end, and communism would start (what a word is communism!!)

Actually, the ppl who is prepared earn more money…
What’s the point of being a nuclear engineer if someone who cleans the streets earns the same as you, huh?
