If you assume that males are sexist, you become defensive and more prone to lashing out or pointing out your superiority… this causes the male to identify the female as ‘aggravating’ or ’senselessly hostile’… which causes the male to treat the female in a sexist manner. *If you are a female*

If you assume that x people are criminals, you protect yourself from them and prevent them from working in your company because they may commit a crime… the x people see you as hostile and oppressive and become angry, and have no way to earn money because you won’t give them a job… thus they become criminals. *Substitute any group for x and assume that you are y*

Basically, if you treat somebody a certain way… you increase the chance that they will respond that way. That’s self-fulfilling prophecy.
