Some help would be nice:S

I was wondering homany callories an average teenager should consume a day.
And is a low callorie diet really that bad?
I counted the callories I consume on a fat day and they came up to a stunning 936 incl. drinks and the stuff I put on my bread.
I’ve heard of people living on 500 callories so I guess that isn’t that bad(maybe a bit too much?).
I wonder when you can call not wanting to eat and thinking you’re fat, wanting to lose weight all the time an ED (eating disorder).
I don’t think I have one but I almost know for sure I did and I think my kind of… boyfriend has one cause he hardly eats and he’s been losing weight for over a year now, he’s starting to get scary:S

Eating disorders are not cool, take it from someone who’s still trying to get over one. You really need to talk to your boyfriend.

I know they’re not cool. I’ve been told I have one… and I’ve been told I don’t cause I still do eat sometimes.
I’m already talking to him about it, he says he doesn’t believe in it… I don’t know what to say since I’m doing the same things he does and he knows about it…

Well, the same thing happened with me. I still ate, but very little. It still is a problem either way.

All I know is that in adults a woman should be around 2000 a day and men should be on 2500, around about that.
To live on 500 at any age has long term affects, it will slow you growth and even stunt it, you can develope illness as your internal organs will being to slow to save energy and in some cases even shut down, your immune system will suffer to, you will be more open to germs and take longer to recover from things as simple as a cold.
As this prolongs you may also find in females you become infertile and will cease periods.

Basically you would be killing yourself the slowest way possible but die in the most painful way.

Sorry for being blunt but I think you would prefer the facts.

I know what it does but it doesn’t make me feel like trying…
When I look in the mirror i just see this fat person I don’t want to be and sure I know it will hurt me, infact.. it already is.
The facts just don’t scare me enough and eventhough my hair started falling out a while ago I still feel like i should eat less, exercise more, lose a lot of weight and that kinda thing.

And if you know what it is already then you can understand why I said that and why I would recommend you getting some outside help.

You body is lacking vital things to keep it going that is why your hair is falling out, if you were in fact “fat” then your body would not be reactiong this way yet.

You look in the mirror and see a distorted view of yourself rather than the actual true image.
It is mental and there for a mental illness of somekind, it is not uncommon, you are in no doubt anorexic, and I would guess you are probably just skin and bones and if not that severe yet I would guess not far from it.

You are killing yourself because your brain wont let you see the truth.

I’m not skin and bones, I know cause I ask people what I look like.
One of my friends told me I’m not exactly the skinny type so I guess I’m not as skinny as you imagine me to be.
I might not see what I really am but I do think I have an idea of what I look like…

ok at your age, no offence to your friends, but it is bad to ask them certian advice, I know because I was your age once, kids (teens) can be and are most the time selfish, how do you know they are teling you the truth??

I went though the same as you when I was about 14, I had a bad event that made me want to punish myself and I did that though starving, eventually it got to the point where, like you, I only saw a fat blob in the mirror, I would CONSTANTLY ask my friends how I looked, I was so paranoid I would ask them daily, in the end they got fed up and would just reply with anything and same as your friend they said that too and I only weighed about 6 stone.

You need to get help before it is too late, if you really do want to lose weight then get help first, get over this issue you have with your body and then start with the healthy way to lose pounds but only if you need too.

500 a day! r u serious!?! you’d die on that kind of diet! you should seriously be talking atleat 2000 calories, and 2500 for more active people, it doesnt matter how old you are…

My aunt worked in a hospital and she used to say how f/u/c/k/e/d up people where if they got into that kind of trouble with eating so little…

Please, read what Emily (LazyDaze) said, read it four more times and let it sink in. I’m asking you to get help, find a dietician or nutritionist to help with your diet and nutrition, seek someone to talk about how you view yourself & the body you are in.

Because by the time (most) people can admit and start accepting that they have an eating disorder they have been told countless times that what they’re doing is more then just an unhealthy “habit” that they can stop, it’s a long way spiral down before they realise they are not in control. Not everyone comes back, allot will never fully recover, almost everyone has their relapses.

Your post hit a nerve with me, I want to scream, stop, wake up, get help now, you & your boyfriend so you can get a healthier diet and a better perspective on what state you are in. It’ll be hard, but again I plead: please, get some help out there in the real world.

My parents can’t offord any kinda help. Dietcians , nutricionists, psychologists.
It’s all too expenceive, same goes for my boy. We both come from poor famillies and I’ve already cost to much. My parents are already struggeling to not pay more on food than what my dad gets paid.
If it’s really anorexia like you guys say, I’ll try to work on it but it can’t cost any money.
My mom had it when she was 18, she fainted all the time, it was really baad with her and she got over it…she’s on the fat side now.
If she can get over it without help, why wouldn’t I be able to?

Some people can get over it without much help but it all depends how strong you are and the factors included in it.
As I said I was the same as you when I was 14, it took me untill I was 19 to know I had a problem and the only way I survived it and got over it was because I got pregnant, I had to stop being to self indulged and face up to my issues.
Things could have so easily turned out different for me, I am glad they didn’t but what you are saying is basically that your going to wait and see if you can do it on your own, what if you can’t?
If you can’t and a year from now maybe less you collapse from the strain on your heart, your parents would have to spend alot more getting you treatment then, when you may not be able to recover from it and at that point you could have developed some life long conditions that need medication for life.

Read up on this disorder and see how serious it actually is, I was not jokeing when I said you are killing yourself slowly, it is killing you and the longer it goes on the odds will not be in your favour.
