Can we manipulate time?

Cause doesn’t it seem like some days are slow and others are fast like where the hell did the time go…but then somedays seconds just roll so slow…I know its all in that individuals mind cause Time is an illusion or whatever but can we manipulate it?

It’s not time itself, but your perception of time that differs.

Time is not an illusion. Without time, the universe cannot exist.

Yup… our movement through space + our movement through time = 100%

Thus, if you move close to light speed you are moving 90% through space, and 10% through time (time slows down).

If you are hardly moving at all then you are moving 90% through time, and 10% through space (time speeds up).

So, wanna slow down time? Orbit the earth a few times, or hang out on the edge of a black-hole.

Wanna speed up time? Hold perfectly still as close to the center of the earth as you can get, or dive into a black-hole.

Triva: A GPS satellite travels roughly 38.7 microseconds into the future every 24 hours earth-time. Thus every 70.8 years the sattelite travels a full second into the future! ((To give perspective a satellite needs to be accurate within 20-30 nanoseconds, if we didn’t adjust the atomic clocks to run slower on the satellites, the results would be off by roughly 20 ft more every second that passes!))

For a more psychological (subjectivist) approach.
Just think about a man driving a car at 150miles/h.
Think about the car passing besides you and think how fast you perceive it. Then put your self on his shoes, and think how he perceives his environement from the car. even if the speed difference stays the same, concentration may slower the perception of time.

You can try the same thing with a propeller. Try looking at a propeller, then concentrate on one of it’s wings. That’s the same thing that makes the difference between a fast day and a slow day generally.

Time is a measurement just like feet and pounds. It is a physical component of the universe. You can’t change it with your will, just as you can’t change distance. If you want to get into the technicalities of physics, than it can be argued that both distance and time can be warped by certain things. For your purposes, however, just understand that your mind perceives the passage of time differently depending on what it is focused on. If you’re bored and not doing anything, your brain has idle time to waste on other things, so time seems slow. When you’re busy and focused on one thing, you’re brain doesn’t waste resources on other things, such as the passage of time, so it escapes your notice and untimately time seems to pass quickly.
