before you do anything, you need to figure out what specifically is causing that error.

could be any number of things. including, but not limited to
* corrupted files in your master boot record
* maybe your hard drive died
* boot order might have changed (e.g. maybe its trying to boot off a cdrom drive or diskette rather than booting off the harddrive)

if you’re not sure what i meant by any of that, do not try to fix the problem based on my response.

the best thing for you to do: find the tech support website for the company who built your computer and start this same conversation with them.

second best thing to do: google the error message. read copious forum threads about other people trying to figure out the same problem

Make sure you have a boot device set in the BIOS.

You can always try to open up the comp if you know how and put a little pressure on the harddisk wires to seat them better. I got the same message and that worked for me. Wait. If you got that message, how did you type that?
