Vista sucks.
Half of the people I know just put XP on their new computers after getting rid of vista.
BTW.. I have a pukeard hell, never buy those!

Im not really ready for Vista yet. I dont usually upgrade to a new version of windows until Microsoft have got it completely sorted and all bugs are fixed / patched. Besides half the programs you used to use wont be compatible with Vista, so you will need to make sure all updates are completed and some even require add ons or special updates to run on Vista.

Spider Man

Wow, you must still be on Windows 3.1.1!! lol

I use Firefox on Vista and it’s amazing! I have the All in one sidebar and mouse gestures installed. I can fly through pages, increase or decrease text and open new pages without touching my keyboard!

When you try to save, is there a pale yellow bar that appears at the top of the page? you may be missing an add-on which is required to do what you want.
Try it again.

folks, when you decide to use Firefox (wise decision), please consider downloading the following add-ons:

Adblock Plus - stops pop-up ads
Foxyproxy - more security online
Mouse gestures redox - less keyboard, more mousework!
AIOS(all in one sidebar) puts your bookmarks(favourites) at the side of your screen…can be opened with a mouse click

go here and install the plugins for programs you use: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/fire…

you can change the look (skins) and add media addons so you can play music through it

I will be happy to help anyone set up their Firefox.

one more very good add on… it runs in the background and helps with safe sites…

WOT - web of trust. allows you to rate the sites you visit. It brings up warning pages for unsafe sites, and allows you to see if they are suitable for children… etc.

Why are so many people all for not using their mouse to do things instead of keyboards? Well, two people……

I hate using the mouse, hotkeys are far quicker!

I can’t say I have, but then again I use a laptop with no mouse! Even still though, I never like using a mouse with a desk top, I find it’s always a lot quicker just using the shortcuts with keyboards.

Out of curiosity, how does the mouse gestures work? As in, what kind of commands does it register?

well, if you were using a mouse, you would right click and move the mouse up to open a new tab
right click and drag down to open a new page
right click and drag down and right (5 o’clock) to increase text
right click and drag up and left (11 o’clock) to decrease text
right click and drag left to go back a page
right click and drag right to go forward a page, etc.

it does work with the touchpad on laptops too.

there are many more, and it’s customizable too.

Sounds like a good concept. I like software that is totally customizable!

Still, not for me I think, all those kind of commands can be done very easily with a keyboard too. It’s good to know that there are other ways of operating though, I shall pass it on to other people that it may be of interest to :)
