What do you think makes you emotionally dependent in the first place?

I depend on others for advice, support, sympathy, suggestions etc. first i depended a lot on my parents, then my sister and brother. they all moved away later, then my friends who all ended up getting married and too busy in their own lives and now my husband. i HAVE TO tell him each and everything about my day. starting from what anyone said or did to how i feel and what i want to do. now my husband is also moving away and i’m dreading the emotional isolation. i have no one else i can depend on emotionally for emotional support and advice. how can i become emotionally independent within a few months?

i think my emotional dependence roots from lack of confidence in myself and a lack of confidence in my own decisions. also, its a habit that most teenage girls have in our society. many women i know are still stuck in a teenage girl phase of life. where we have to tell our friends each and everything or we don’t feel good about ourselves. i’m a little better in this case as i have been emotionally independent too. there were times (a few years) in my life when i had no one to emotionally depend on and i became very much independent but then later on, i became dependent again. it was just easier to be dependent. i also provided emotional support and advice to all my friends, family members and even random people i met. i’d listen to them for hours and really felt for them. but now i don’t feel like giving emotional support and i don’t want to take it from anyone either. coz i feel that my friends and family members are never there when i really need support and it really hurts me. only my husband is here with me now and he gives me lots of support/advice but now he’s also going abroad for a year and i’m really scared. i have no one here. my parents and siblings are also abroad. my friends are never there for me. i’m always trying to give emotional support to my friends but when i need them, they all disappear.

Think about your life in a different perspective.
Think about the things that you REALLY want to do in your lifetime,
regardless of if anyone else believes the same.
Do every little thing that makes you happy.Period.
best thing you can do is show others that you ARE okay being
alone sometimes.
