Extreme Makeover Home Addition

I have heard some say that this is a great show that helps people in need. Others say it is just a show that is trying to make money and only cares about TV ratings—building huge houses that people can’t afford to maintain—causing more problems, rather than helping people. What do you think???

I say all shows are trying to make money. Yes they are helping people, but would they still be helping the people if they were not making a TV show. No, I don’t think so.

I don’t think they are causing more problems though. Most the people get their mortgages paid off.
That should leave them with enough for the up keep of the huge house.

I like that show either way.

I’m good friends with a family that was on this show. They are the Hughes family, and their oldest of three sons is a blind and physically disabled musical prodigy. The EXHM team helped make their lives much easier, especially the oldest son Patrick. I’ve watched the episode many times and the people who work on the homes were truly inspired by their story. I think it’s a great show, and while they really need the money in order to keep it going (I don’t know how much of this series you’ve watched, but money never seems to be an issue), I don’t see it as a show seeking to make grand profit.
