~Do You Need A Proxy For Myspace~
You have got to understand that Myspace is blocked at school for a reason.
Here are the simple reasons they block MySpace.com:
1. It contains suggestive and pornographic images
2. It allows for the easy posting of way too much personal information
3. It is a context for dating and personal ads
4. It can be and has been used to exploit children and teenagers.
Please stop coming here begging for an answer that you are not going to get. School is for learning, not playing on the computer.
please invite everyone so that it may get back to those searching for an answer of how to get a proxy.

no… The main reason it is blocked is because kids waste what is supposed to be productive time on it.

you are right.. but those are the answers that i got when i googled it..
As for the whole exploitation of children reason, that is really overblown, I’m sorry, but kids are not as gullible as you think.

but there are some out there.. and as i said.. those are the reasons in which myspace was blocked in the first place back when myspace became popular.. so i decided to post them.. feel free to edit if you need too. that is also why i stated that school is for learning..
Lol,I too was going to give you google links also, but you obviously don’t need them lol….
youtube is also banned on school p[ages, which irks me sometimes…

lol… well, they can still help if you find them.. just paste them here or edit the post..
yesterday i went back to a post in which someone was requesting a proxy for myspace and told us all to go F*** ourselves because we wouldnt give in and tell them…
Commander Ikari wrote:

youtube can have plenty of things on there that are not suitable for young children…

I don’t mind it being banned at elementary levels, but in high school to ban it for that reason is silly as all hell.
yeah… that is the reason for this post… because since school has started, there have been a lot of requests for proxies and some of them, people are giving them proxy sites to search.. and it makes me quite mad because kids shouldnt be on myspace during school time.

well, im sure that every school, little school or high school are all on the same provider and such.. so blocking one school, blocks them all..
but still, school is for learning… not being able to get onto myspace for a few hours isnt going to kill someone…

I nearly died, I totally had to know if any webcam websites had friended me. It tore at me, having to wait, and expected to do school work in a school of all places!
I think if they wanted to check out my space at lunch time, fine, but I agree, school is for learning. If its a class thing too, cool. But come on, my space if used addictively, or irresponsibly is cutting off so much valuable learning time. Time for learning and then comes earning.
They need to get ready and pay attention. We have to protect kids from themselves. That’s why their not adults yet. We are there watching and helping and guiding.
hahahahahaha.. i know… lmfao…
i have to say, i have a myspace and i love it… at one time.. i have to say, i was addicted to it.. lol.. (not anymore)
and it can still be fun to keep in contact with your friends and such.. but kids have to realize, when they are in school, so are their friends… so what is the hurry to get onto it??

by the way, i posted the title that i did, hoping that they all get here thinking its a post to get a proxy.. lol..
hehehehe.. sneaky… lmfao

guess it only shows that one of the reasons for being blocked is due to people not telling the truth online… RIGHT??? lmfao.. lesson learned.. hahahahaha
Kids hardly go outside anymore, games, and videos, music and comps, my space and all
kids are facing young obesity, and diabetes, due to obesity, at a record rate. It’s sad. Way too many people sitting around. Kickball, tennis, going to the pool with friends, all the social situations are being taken away due to what our kids are exposed to at a touch.

Those whipper snappers! In my day, We walked 10 miles to school everyday in the snow, without shoes! And we played games everyday, and by God, we had fun!
2greeneyes wrote:
LOL, Commander!Im not that old!
i guess i am.. because i really did walk 2 miles to school each way in the blizzards.. lmfao… but only because i lived in one town and went to another town for school and my mother was too friggin lazy to drive us.. ugh..
Its true though Commander, kids are facing serious health issues because they aren’t getting enough activity. Also, these games they play, well some anyway, are causing problems with heart rate, irritability, social disorders, as well as the obesity and diabetes.
Kids are loosing their childhoods, and health, to modern conveniences, rights of passage in life, missing these things in real life, that they wont get back, cause they spend too much time in a fantasy world.

And comic books ruin their moral fiber, and rock and roll is a communistic scheme.
hmm…im one of those people who would try to get around the blocks, but for youtube. unfortunatly my school is blocked by the diocese and i dont want to mess with them..

I collected comic books and still love them. LOL Love rock and roll.
Oh Catholic school, me too! They tried so hard to make me right handed.

yup…
Wel, it’s not like the pope will cane you for looking at youtube videos… I hope…
Catholic schools tell me about them ..I use to get beat!!!! now they have the child abuse laws in affect. Wish they had them when I attended… Those nuns were crazy.Out of sheer fear you learned real quick :)
I was left handed and still am. Everyday after school they would make me write, right handed. I would have to wear a glove on my left hand. I got slapped with rulers, hard if they caught me “on the wrong side of the Lord”.

he might….or get me arrested or tell god to send me to hell or something..

danm!! hard to believe god wanted them to do that….
I think they all were abusers! Left us with horrific memories that still surfacce from time to time. God didn’t want them to do it, they did because they could :(
Isish also in a Italian Catholic school. Talk about discrimination :(
We have many stories ourselves and no, God did not want them to do that.
How ironic, you are Irish, in an Italian Catholic school.
So much for love thy neighbor as thy self huh?lol. yep, lol…
How odd we should run into eachother and the shoe on the opposite foot? LOL Well I hope you can say things are better and these attrocities dont continue.
lol… Still have bad nightmares some times.Form of brain washing to a degree I think. Just so wrong they were :(
actually the main reason they don’t allow it at school is so the child can learn while not being distracted by social networking at school

you are right..
I HAVE POSTED THIS because i keep seeing the posts wanting help.. and then there are some people who do try to give them the answers..
if schools wanted to let them onto myspace, they would be allowed… there is no need to be giving children the answers on how to get past the blocks..
so if anyone sees another myspace post where they want the answer.. send them here..

Good job Shie! :D
Yes we may be party poopers but it’s like I tell my chidlets, “You aren’t supposed to like me sometimes when I am looking out for what is best for you, that’s my job and I take it seriously”.
Very good Shie. The admins should put a link to this post on the MySpace Helpbot.

Shie, do you still have a MySpace page? If so, why?Did you know that there is a partnership between MySpace and Google? In other words, if there *IS* exploitation, then both of these companies are earning money from it.
You can vote against such big media exploiting young people by simply not participating.
Good luck with your “anti marketing” campaign!
BD
yes, i have a myspace because 1, the one that i use is to keep in contact with my oldest daughters friends, 2, the second i have is to promote my story about my children, so yes, i have two of them..
its not anti marketing to stay away from myspace.. its anti for people to stop asking for help in finding a proxy to break rules at school..
there is a ling from help bot that states as the following…

and i suggest that kids stop asking for a proxy because eventually, it just might stop all computer use at school all together…
and for those who keep giving out proxy sites shouldnt do it…

lol, I will try and get this done for you, I have already made two remarks to two admins
even if they add the reasons why it is blocked and ask others NOT TO GIVE proxies..
Shie wrote:

yeah I know, some people don’t listen, you know Jeff is online.
maybe it should be a rule in the TOS, do not give out proxies to children for school use of blocked websites..
because i had actually asked someone not too.. and got a crummy reply.. well, this site does not say that i cant…
