Internet help: Why does both of my browsers take a long time to load any webpage? - Help.com

This post left anonymously

Why does both of my browsers take a long time to load any webpage?

Even google takes around 30 seconds to load - if not longer! But, once I load the pages I can navigate them fast and if i download anything i download them at a high speed - for example i downloaded something at 900k/b sec before, so why do my browsers take a long time to load a webpage, or anything to do with the internet?

It may be because of the programs you are using upon you systems startup, what kind of anti-virus do you have?

I hope it is to, after using almost every available web browser i can defiantly tell you that firefox is my favorite, and they are constantly updating it so it performs better and safer. I don’t think that would cause any problem’s
hopefully firefox helps

My computer runs fine, same as usual. I ran CCleaner, removed a load of crap nearly a gig, and went on my way, ran a virus/spyware check and cleaned my pc fully.

I only got 2gb ram, but it doesn’t run slow. Just vista it’s self annoys the crap out of me, you need to give administration to everything (Well you can turn it off)
Plus, you’ll get more problems with vista then XP. I mean, I’ve had to fix 3 program related incidents in the past 2 days. One due to a third party program registering it’s own Wmp.dll.

If your PC seems like its slowing down and having a hard time surfing the web or just doesn’t seem right. If you think that you have a virus or bug. You need to clean it out first to find out what’s causing the problems. Here’s a few programs that I use regularly and they take very little time and skill to run.
You should go to http://download.com and get these programs.
AD WARE AND SPY WARE REMOVERS:
AD-Aware: http://www.download.com/3120-20_4.htm…
Spybot search and destroy: http://www.download.com/Spybot-Search…
CCleaner: http://www.download.com/CCleaner/3000…
If you don’t have an Antivirus program you can use.
Avast: http://www.download.com/Avast-Home-Ed…
or AVG: http://www.download.com/AVG-Anti-Viru…
and for your firewall a good program is
Zone Alarm: http://www.download.com/ZoneAlarm-Fir…
Install these programs and run them regularly. This will keep your system clean and running properly. These programs are free and Download.com is a part of CNET (the site that your posting on right now). Hope this helps :-)

Yeh right. Figured that I would let them know that the programs are out there and this will prevent any further problems. Its not spam when it comes from the same company. Hope this helps :-)
