school help: I’m writing a letter of application for a new job and I’m - Help.com

I’m writing a letter of application for a new job and I’m not sure whether to put “yours sincerely” or “yours faithfully”.

I don’t know the people so I know that makes a difference, just can’t remember how. Actually as I come to think of it, I’m writing another in application for a prefect role at school to my head of year and of course I know her so how should I sign off on that one as well?

I know it’s a bit of a daft question and not that urgent but I would like a quick answer that’s all. :)

Just say “sincerely”. Do not say “yours”!

i usually end with ‘thank you for your time.’ lets them know you appreciate them taking the time to read your application and curtails all the awkwardness xP
