work help: I have an old digital camera. - Help.com

I have an old digital camera.

It drop from about 3 feet high. When I pick it up, the lens barrel was jammed and on the screen there was an “error” message. How do I fix this problem?
I tried changing the battery, but it didn’t work.
I tried forcing the barrel out, but it still didn’t work.
I’m lost here.

Will definately need to take it in for repairs, but seeings it’s old, it will probably cost you more than the camera is worth.

Good quality digital cameras aren’y expensive these days, you might be better off buying a new one.

Once electronics have been dropped, they just never work the same ever again.

If it’s a DSLR just change the lens (check that you haven’t damaged the mount) only use lenses with metal mounts. Get the lens repaired if economical. If it’s a compact (and not a leica or rioch) throw it in the bin and buy a new one.
