My grandmother is 85. She had a stroke this morning. She has high bp, diabetes, and alztimers(spelling). What are her chances of actually living through this?

I used to take care of someone with similiar health issues, and when I left that job she was ninety four.

Firstly, I’m sorry to hear that your grandmother has been unwell. Secondly, it’s impossible for anyone on here, even if medically trained, to try and make predictions and prognosises … each individual is different and each case is different. Only the doctors caring for her will be able to answer this question for you.

Why don’t you talk to someone about your worries? A family member perhaps? Or the doctors and nurses caring for her? They are there to help you as well as her in this.

They will be doing all that they can to ensure a positive outcome. That’s for sure! It might be that you don’t get a straight answer today because they have a lot of tests and monitoring to do before they have enough information to hand. Try not to worry.
