Ok I am a 21 year old woman who is 5′9″ and I weigh 125 pounds.

According to my BMI I am in the higher underweight, lower normal weight range. I eat (full healthy meals) until I am full and I do regular exercise. Anyway when I go out to eat with people they feel the need to single me out saying things like “you eat like a bird” “do you eat at all” “no wonder you are so skinny” Or when I skip dessert “she’s trying to watch her figure.” It’s gotten to the point where my family thinks I have an eating disorder.

This is ridiculous. How can I convince my family & friends I DO NOT have an eating disorder, that I just don’t want to be obese. Like some of them

Well it doesn’t sound to me like your ridiculously skinny, as you said your self your in the category that can be considered either just a little bit underweight or just about normal weight. Provided you are indeed eating full, healthy meals then you’ve got nothing to worry about. Just explain to your friends that you enjoy eating healthily. It’s something nearly all of us could do with doing to be honest :P

i agree 100 percent. don’t let them make u feel any different about eating healthy. if u like ur eating habits then don’t change them just to please them and u don’t have 2 explain anything to them coz u don’t need their approval or something. so just keep going on as u have been. =]

I don’t think you can convince them. Just point out that you are not loosing weight nor do you want to loose weight. In time, if they see you stay the same weight. They will let off the worry.

Sounds like perfect weight for your height, especially if you have some muscles. :)

Some people are smaller than normal. it doesn’t necessarily mean that they have an eating disorder. Some people are just naturally tiny. It runs in our family but they eat lots and have junk nights sometimes and stuff but they are just naturally tiny.

Saaaaaaame problem, I’m 5′7 and 118 and I never hear the end of it from my family. Just ignore it, once they see that you aren’t losing weight and you are in fact eating they’ll back off. It’s natural for grandparents and parents to think their grandkids/kids are too thin, it’s just their way of showing you they love you. I know it’s frustrating but it does lighten up after a while.
