It is Smart to switch in Senior year?

Hey, so i am a junior right now and i completely HATE my school i have very very few friends there is Absolutely no girls the people is bad must of the teachers are mean i am really having a very bad time there . I currently for Freshman and Sophomore year have a 3.3 GPA but this year so far i have a 4.1 i am really making an effort to raise it and have a pretty good GPA , i already have must of the credits i need for college and i am studying for my SAT test to have very very good scores ( in the PSAT i already did pretty good getting 1120/1600), ALL my classes are Honors.

I want to know if switching my school in my senior year might affect me in my Application for college? considering the fact i am going to have a high 3 or a 4 of GPA and very good SAT scores .

Also i would be switching from a private to a public high school. but even the high i would be switching is an “A” school.

it might complicate things a bit, but if you think it will make you happier, it’s a wise move.
if you’re really outgoing and willing to work, you’ll probably excel in public school compared to private. but also be aware that most public schools aren’t always as ready or able to cater to your needs, even for college help.

try listing pros and cons?

I understand that , its like the only bad thing about it. Must of my friends are from the school i want to switch too and i swere if i get switched my happiness would be soo big i would be soo inspired to work that i would have even better grades the onyl thing that worries me is not how i am going to adapt is if this might affect me to get into college. I mean if i have the grades and the SAT scores there shouldnt be a problem to get into college even if you are in public school right?

If you absolutely hate your school and its a good idea to switch.but make sure your switching to a good school. Public schools could be crap when it comes to education. You might lose focus on your studies, settling in with the new environment and making new friends. Just think it through and if you feel like it’s the right decision then just follow that.

You’re not going to school to make friends, be noticed or to be popular. Neither your friends nor your enemies will sign your high school diploma. Forget the self-absorbed people and concentrate on graduating and getting ready for college. You can virtually stand on your head until you graduate . . . transferring could really mess up your high school records. Not worth it to transfer.

keep your eye on the ball.

the fact that you mention your gpa in your post tells me that you want to do really well, get into the best possible college, do well at the college, etc etc etc.

unless your current school is so lame that it gets in the way of your academic performance, you should just ride it out and not switch schools.

don’t underestimate all the stuff you’ll have to deal with as a result of switching schools. (they’ll have different procedures, possibly different graduation requirements. curriculum structure will probably be different so you might take a class and have it repeat the stuff you just saw in the other school. none of the teachers will know you, so no one will be giving you the benefit of the doubt on anything. aaaand any social repercussions.) that stuff could kill your productivity and stress you out.

i am in the same boat. i am a junior this year and want to change schools for my senior year. my reason for changing is that another school in my town has a great dance team. the dance team at my school is non competitive and kind of lame :)
let me know what you figure out and i will do the same. all i want to know is whether or not switching high schools my junior would look bad on my college apps. i dont want to look like i cant stick to things.
