Words Are the New Brands :: How to Listen to Your Audience — and Why You NEED to Do That!

I wrote a blog post yesterday, and I feel it is maybe a “quick and easy” summary of my work:

http://gaggle.info/post/97/om-malik-y...

Especially: Watch the interview of Om Malik (by Sarah Lacy).

Does any of this make sense to you?

I am only one person, I don’t understand much anyway so I am not the best person to have answered your post, Maybe just ignore my vote.

Why?
You have already invited 93 people to your post and I assume that was a mass invite without looking to see if those people would or may be intersted in this?
I think 93 is more than enough to answer this, plus I don’t really know of anyone in my friends list that would know how to answer this the way you would like or expect.
Sorry I can’t be of any help.

Well my reply was really refering to why you wanted me to invite people, if you inviting 93 people hasn’t done anything then why would me inviteing people make any difference..
Also there is a good chance that I would be inviteing people you already have and that would only annoy them getting another invite.

I usually consider they way people feel to be their own thing, not something that I might be able to influence directly — interesting point, though.

You can influence the way people feel, in most cases the way people feel is directly because of someone else.
If you think that peoples actions will not influence others I would like to know how and why you came up with that.
Maybe another time and another post.

*sigh* your post is the only movement going on in my notices and I don’teven know how to reply to it now.

I have given you a few ideas in the past of how to talk to this site, actually alot of ideas, you like your way and your way is how you will always do it so getting depressed over people not understanding your posts is in a sense a pointless task because even if you listend to what would be better you would not apply it anyway.

..Unsubscribing now, I answered the origianl question I have nothing more to add.

I think that you are definitely on to a concrete theory. With the uprising of Youtube and soundbyte quotable media everything is boiled down to the most direct access of information, disinformation, or propaganda. Considering the way that search engines work, it makes sense to name blogging sites succinctly after the general topic of interest. This will increase the number of hits whether intentional or inadvertent, thus increasing advertising exposure. Eventually, I fear we will see the corporatization of information flow in this free media wild west because eventually everyone will pay to basically own words. For now, this one word search methodology of naming a business is a truly genius idea. Question is: how do you create a blogging site as a taxable business? Also, how do you avoid libel, smear campaigns, slander, or copyright issues? Sounds like one would need to incorporate before one would start the site. Though blogging is a new amazing forum for unadulterated free speech, I think some windfall torts will be in line because what is published is not regulated yet. Most people are unaware that there are illegal forms of speech. The government hasn’t caught up to prosecuting many of them yet but just like in the case of illegal downloading of music or intellectual properties; soon I believe there will be information police. Long live free speech in America. How do I start my own blogging site or freelance writing in order to gain credibility and an audience?

not realy,i started my singing and writing career almost 50 years ago same time as the Beatles Rod Steward and all the rest my career was coming to Australia tying and trying my heart out to have a band and make it through singing ,but in those times they have never heard of a 3 or 4 or 5 man Band .Rejections ,rejection rejections a silly German is coming to Australia and trying to show these guise how to make music. Here was only single singers or bands like Benny Goodman .Not the Beatles or stones types .So i gave up and concentrated on me learning the language of English. After that marriage and the rest is history…

OK, I will say “yes” but I can see a problem you might be running into on this site. You are asking some questions that only people in the same industry can answer (like me) and then others that are more general because you want the input. I wonder if some people just don’t know how to answer you yet. :) Perhaps you should tailor your questions just a little more inclusively or ask those that know more directly? Not sure, but always willing to help. I just got over a big move so I’m not 100% quite yet. Sigh, my new place is literally wired for work - you should see my living room floor :) L8r and all the best.
