that Joe the Plumber
http://www.commondreams.org/headline/...
“I don’t have any Joe the Plumbers in my neighborhood that make $250,000 a year that are worried,” Biden said on NBC’s Today show. “The Joe the Plumbers in my neighborhood, the Joe the Cops in my neighborhood, the Joe the Grocery Store Owners in my neighborhood - they make, like 98 percent of small businesses, less than $250,000 a year. And they’re going to do very well under us, and they’re going to be in real tough shape under John McCain.”

That is a FABULOUS quote. I love it! Yay for supporting the middle class, because if we don’t, it won’t exist for much longer!
Even in Australia, I have heard of Joe the plumber. He sounds like a good, hard working guy.
Fact:Joe the plumber is not really a plumber at all!!
Isn’t the president just a figure head for whoever sits behind the seat of power, making it a moot point to who is and who is not the president?
Sorry, I don’t know much about American politics.
I believe that this country is run by the corporations with big money. Not the people anymore.
First off anyone who is eligible is supposed to be able to run for president right? Well, they can but they won’t get any media coverage (proven fact) about their campaign because the media is bought by the rep/dem.
Also when a third-party candidate went to talk to Fox news since he got an invitation given to him by a student supporter or something. He went to the debate grounds (as we all know the debate commission is run by 2 people. A former democrat and republican. So he got there and the police told him that he wasn’t allowed on the property PERIOD and if he went on property he would be arrested.
He had LEGAL rights to be there (for one because he’s a human, and the fact that he had a invitation from Fox News.)
My question (also his, sorta) what kind of world are we living in when a man can’t go on debate properties to debate the economics of this country because he isn’t Dem/Rep?
I think it’s pretty ****** up. We need more choices then just a Dem/Rep. Polls have EVEN said that they both suck. And we are just choosing the lesser of 2 evils. I say, Why choose an evil in the first place? We have more options: Vote Nader/Gonzalez 08′!
Everyone has more choices then democrat or republican. Why don’t you start up a website and talk about some independent candidates or other people that are running . Start a post on this website and educate people so they can be prepared for the next election. Pressure the networks to let more candidates debate by sending them letters or starting a petition. If you feel so strongly about it, do something! Don’t just sit there and talk about how the democrat and republican candidates are evil because, in my opinion, that just makes you seem like you do not know what you are talking about.

It’s not what I’ve said. Ok, let me put it this way then. I personally will vote independent because for one, thats what I’m registered as, and for another I don’t agree with McCain or Obama’s policies. I didn’t mean evil, it’s just what I’ve seen all over the news and stuff here.
We have more choices then Dem/Rep, but how many do you actually see? I’m not talking actual politics here, I just mean choices that we have, in a simple way. We only have two that the media is telling us about. We do have Green Party and Independent and such, but they don’t get any publicity. Why? Probably because no-one thinks they will win, but why aren’t they atleast giving them a chance?
Thats sorta my main points. I think this whole government system is evil heh. All sorts of things like WaterGate, the Vietnam war, we started plenty of riots in different countries to get political leaders in that would side with us (known fact by the CIA). I think Videl Castro had the right Idea, because he didn’t want us ******* around on his land. Although he was bad at how he handled it and what he did to people, he still did it with the idea that he didn’t want us touching his country. There are so many things that this country did that isn’t right. The bailout will only help large corporations, plus where the hell are BOTH of them going to get 700 Billion dollars? Out there ***? No, by taxing us. Or some other ways that don’t benefit us. We are in Iraq because of war, if it was the war on terrorism we would be in Afghan. We already killed there leader, and though it MAY help those people, we need to stay the hell out of their country. We WON’T WIN period. Lets see, in their history who’s attacked them? The Soviet Union (didn’t win by the way) and another country that didn’t win. You can’t beat iraq, they’ve been here since forever ago, so just leave them be for christ sake, PLUS if we did, we would be able to focus on our economy and our defenses here in the united states so that another attack wouldn’t happen. The CIA knew about 9/11 but brushed it off as nothing, and you see what happened? Thousands of people died because of 5 or 10 peoples judgement. Plus you won’t see either of the 2 new presidents put George W. in jail for war-crimes and other crimes he’s commited in the states will you? Nope.
Anyway, I DO know what I’m talking about, it’s just a little hard for me to express my views. Sorry. I don’t mean anything by it, just sayin stuff. If I’m wrong, then well I’m wrong and I don’t really care. I’m voting Independent cause I don’t like either of our candidates. We have on one side Obama/Biden (Biden being a washed up old man, but he does have ok Forign affairs) and then McCain/Palin (Palins just an idiot….and I DON’T want her to be president, or anywhere close)
Just my opinions, no-one has to take them seriously, if you don’t think anything I say is true, then skip this and post your own opinions.
Wow Ship-Shape I love everything you said except the voting part. Even if you only think Obama is a little better than McCain, you should vote for him – because McCain and Palin would really do our country in, as a democracy and as an economy. That’s what I think. But all the rest of what you’ve written I agree with totally.
